Has anyone taken LSD or Shrooms here for the purpose of overcoming or dealing with personal issues in their lives?
Am currently going through quite a lot of personal problems, and would like to have an introspective view into the way I've been behaving and the issues I'm facing.
I understand the trip probably wouldn't end up being all that positive but it might help me to see the errors of my ways.
I'm reasonably exeperienced with Acid but nothing since a few years ago. I've had one "bad" trip (in commas because no trip is ultimately bad of course) so I know what I'm up against.
Just interested in any exeperiences of using LSD or Shrooms for personal growth as oppposed to recreationally.

Cheers Guys.

It can be used for that purpose if that's your intention. As you said just don't expect to necessarily have a fun time. Although maybe you will, who knows.

If one knows what he is doing, psychedelics can be very useful catalyst in overcoming psychological/emotional issues. IME - they helped me to free myself from depression and achive true inner peace.

No tripping doesn't usually help me feel any better (well it really depends on how bad I'm feeling) or resolve any major problems in my life. But i feel like any time you take to just sit, and reflect on your thoughts, can help you get through that. And if you wanna trip while you do that, well that's just dandy.

Those substances can be very useful in overcoming personal problems. If you can I'd check into some books by Stanislav Groff as he has been doing research on LSD psychotherapy for the last thirty years! Remember it's the experience must be felt and fully delt with to start overcoming anything in your life. Don't run from it, try and journal or create art to help integrate the sessions and if you have access to anyone (therapist, friend) to help you integrate you sessions it may help. There's also a difference between methods of working with these substances, psycholytic therapy and psychedelic therapy are the two most common ways. The former uses lsd at lower doses 50ugs-100ug's once a week to help facilitate breaking down the subconsious defenses. The latter approach uses higher doses 150ug's-500ug's to forcefully throw you into a psychedelic experience-this can help in the way of not letting you have an option of what you will deal with, it can also be so oveer whelming that in the peak of the experience you won't be able to really problem solve rationally but may be able to do so by deconstructing your experience by following a theme of your trips. This is where integration really plays a part. Many times the trip is so strong that one may not understand what they experienced...Stan Groff's books may help.
Happy trails!

If you want to have an "introspective view" shrooms will be absolutely perfect for this but like you said since your going through some hard times it may not be to enjoyable.

I take shrooms alone and i get deep, i mean DEEP. Ive only done lsd a couple times but i find that shrooms are much more of a mind fuck. Parts of your brain become so easily accessable and i really think it would help you...or it could bring on a panic attack.

I would jsut make sure to start at a low dose and work your way up to where your comfortable.
