LSD + Nitrous + Salvia - experienced to various degrees - Cosmic Zero / Creepy Hermit
Doses:
~250-300ug of LSD
around 10 n2o cartriges, 2 at a time over the course of the evening
unknown amount of 20x salvia (one bowl, three hits)
This will be a brief report because the really notable parts of the trip were when I added nitrous and then later salvia on top of the LSD. My first time for combining either with acid, and I'm kicking myself for not trynig it sooner!
Set & Setting
This trip happened at the end of a very, very long day. I had gone to the amusement park with some friends, rode a bunch of rollercoasters until my brain was squished into one tiny corner of my skull, and come home around 9:00pm after eating junk food and getting too much sun all day. I was, shall we say, experiencing the comedown from being high on life.
I came home to find a note on the kitchen counter from my wife, who I'd had a fight with the night before, saying "Please check your e-mail." Upon doing so, I read, not really to my surprise, that she was still pissed at me and went to stay at her sister's. I was, without a doubt, in the proverbial doghouse.
I called over there and we talked for a while, enough for me to know she wouldn't stay mad forever, but at this point I was feeling a combination of annoyance at her for acting so dramatically, and also a need to do some serious thinking about our relationship and my life in general. I also just felt like staying up all night by myself. So, without much further ado, I dropped three hits of fairly strong acid and crashed on the couch with the iTunes visualizer and my nitrous dispenser.
After 2-3 hours I had done all the deep thinking I was going to do, and was feeling like treating myself to some recreation. By this time the LSD was starting to peak, a nice strong ++, which may have felt more like a +++ if I had been anywhere but the safety of my own home. I think I was too exhausted to trip quite as hard as I usually would from that dose. Anyway, I decided it was time to do some nitrous.
I have only recently discovered the "right" way to inhale nitrous. Previously I never really took a lungful, I would kind of toke on it and just get a buzz. But gradually I improved my technique until I could get a whole cartridge in one or at most two inhalations. With the help of my pressurized dispenser, I can now inhale two whole cartridges before having to put down the dispenser, which is a MUCH different experience, to say the least.
So, lying on my bed with the lights out, feeling strangely at peace despite the turmoil in my life, with the acid peaking inside me, I huffed down three big lungs of N2O.
Nang. Nang. Nang, nang, nang, nang, nang nang nang nang nang-nang-nang-nang nangnangnangnangnanananananananna
My eyes rolled back and my head rolled back on the pillow. In time to the audio effect of the nitrous, the acid was creating a milkdrop kind of CEV behind my eyelids, each drop splitting off from the one below it, falling upward in an increasing, then decreasing tempo.
I instantly and utterly forgot who I was, or that I was. I became the universe, and the universe, in time to the nanging, rapidly approached its end -- yet it was a peaceful and calm feeling of ending, of returning to a single, infinite point of unity, a Cosmic Zero that was inevitable and so not to be feared. The return to the state of balance and oneness from before the Big Bang -- the Big Nang. Once the great oneness was reached, I knew all would be well.
It is impossible to describe the feeling of omnipotent enlightenment that flowed over me for those few seconds. Of course, when I came back, I was laughing like crazy. They don't call it laughing gas for nothing! And of course, I wanted to do it again right away.
I did a few more bulbs throughout the night and each time the effect was the same, at first increasing and then decreasing in intensity with each visit. Around the third time, it took a REALLY long time for me to come back, my visual field just kind of re-pixellated itself slowly from the center outward over the course of about 20 seconds. Gorgeous.
Another time, I inhaled while staring deep into the iTunes visualizer, which was displaying a rising and falling audio waveform in time to a very quiet song. As the N2O peaked the waveform became very still, and fell below the midpoint of the black screen which consumed my entire vision. There was nothing in the universe except that thin green line of sound, vibrating and reaching up for the midpoint but not quite reaching it. For some reason I felt that if it did not return to the center of the screen, which was "me" ,then I would die, like the music was dying. I felt very calm about this.
Later, as I lay there (by this time I was on the couch), a silly thought struck my nitrous-addled mind. Salvia! Of course! I have to try salvia with this! I had just rediscovered my salvia stash after having thought it lost, or, in my darker moments, pilfered by an untrustworthy friend.
I quickly and clumsily packed a bowl, lit it with a torch lighter, and inhaled it in three hits. This was 20x, powerful stuff, but I knew from experience that three hits of it is what I need to break through.
Again "I" went away for a while, this time without the nanging, although there was a definite rhythmic pulse to the salvia's effects as well. Despite the fact that I don't think I ever closed my eyes, I went completely blind to the world around me, and was overcome with an inexplicable vision. It was like books, or barcodes, or wait, no, it's my Bic lighter with the fine-print label on it, repeated to infinity! And the white space is gradually falling away, while the text builds up and up, a tower of three dimensional micro-text climbing up from the depths, being spewed forth by some underground alien machine!
Slowly, VERY slowly, this vision was replaced by the vision of my living room coffee table with my nitrous dispenser on it. But I could not recognize it, instead it was a city street, turned on its side , a streetcorner with buildings and cars. There was a feeling of EXTREME slow motion, and muffled, frantic sounds, like sirens and screams from far away. Suddenly I knew what was happening: I had walked out on the street and been killed, and was hearing people rushing towards me, and the ambulance! I could feel myself slowly pulling away from the vision, receding back from it, as if towards the afterlife.
I started willing myself back to reality, and gradually my living room reconstituted itself, as when waking from a very deep sleep. There was a strong feeling of a presence, something or someone who had either just entered the room (by now I knew I was in fact still in my house, although this was an incoherent kind of knowledge), or was about to at any moment. This person was not happy with me, and would not want to see my this high right now ,and so i struggled harder to regain sobriety. (Later of course I realized I was thinking about my wife.)
I soon emerged from the haze enough to know I had done a drug (salvia?) and it had been very, very weird and alien. I sat and stared at the table for a long time and let the feeling of the "otherness" of everything overcome me. I felt that the experience of LSD, and nitrous, and every other drug I had ever taken, was on THAT side of some major dividing line, and salvia, where I was right then, was all by itself over on THIS side, and a very strange and somewhat creepy side it was. I felt like I was possessed by an eccentric and crusty old hermit, who might be a little dangerous.
For several minutes I wandered the apartment, taking things out of drawers and then putting them back, dissatisfied with the arrangement of things. The trip as it faded began to take on a sour note, tired and bitter, and to rectify it I tried doing one last bulb of nitrous. It was much weaker this time, perhaps I was still overwhelmed with salvia, or perhaps I had just done enough. I finally decided to go to bed.
Conclusion
Overall these two combinations were both extraordinary. I feel I have finally found the real power of both nitrous and salvia, and that I have LSD to thank for providing the baseline from which they both launched to incredible new heights.
This ended up being kind of long after all. Thanks for reading.
