LSD Leaning and excersise

Hello, I was wondering if cardio exercise is bad while tripping? ie... running, jogging, bike riding.

I want to ask this because, when I'm tripping i feel really engergetic, i usually enjoy dancing at raves, but one summer day last year, i found myself tripping outside listening to metallica, and just felt like running, i ran till i felt like I was gonna colapse, till my whole body burned.

Now, for months, I got really intense flashbacks when running or excercising, I can remember every single detail of that jog, It felt like I remember every trail, every turn, in every trail, the trees, meadow, small pond, I remember the temperature, I remember how the air smelled and how the sky looked, like it was recorded on high definition video, and I can hear the songs play in my mind. I belive I recall that event more clearly than anything else in my life.

It seems like I'v sandwiched the 2 states of mind together (intense excersise and hallucinating) Now when I excercise, I hallucinate.

This has faded somewhat now after several months, but I have only done this once.

I want to use this effect to learn. It seems significanly more effective than the usually teacher/preacher/books/lectures/exam ect.... while sober.

I want to know if you are at more risk of heart problems/blood pressure, or bad phsyical reactions from running while tripping (on LSD).

If its not bad for you, id like to try it out alot more, and truely test this thing out.
I know this is a strange proposition, its why im asking it on this fourm, so please answer seriously.:)
 
a similar thread got posted not too long ago actually. So apparently it isn't just terribly uncommon.

Developing an association like this isn't all that odd either. Usually it requires more pairings of the two events, but with such a strong stimulus (running while freaked out by metallica) i could see one pairing having this effect. Also, strenuous exercise is known for producing altered states of consciousness, ask any runner. And for serious runners, you'd have to be in an altered state to complete a marathon or triathalon ;)

As for physical risks, they would probably be pretty minimal, but i'm certainly not a doctor. Given the strain many people put themselves under while on lsd at lengthy raves & music festivals, i'd think exercising would be pretty safe. Definitely don't go out & try to run a marathon your first time though, whether you're on LSD or not. Just proceed with a normal progression of intensity & get plenty of nutrients. I have read a couple cases of hypokalemia associated with psychotic breaks associated with psychedelics. I think most of these were individuals with pretty poor diet though.

MDMA and other phenethylamines (2c-i, 2c-e, etc) may have a higher chance of drastically increasing your heart rate and blood pressure, resulting in a cardiac situation in people who are not 100% healthy...

also note that usually people forget to eat and drink while tripping, causing a low blood sugar situation that often ends up in a black-out or pass-out.

as long as you stay hydrated and carbohydrated you should be OK... i wouldn't feel safe without a friend to go with me just in case of a serious injury that required attention.

I agree that the 2C-family would be slightly more risky than classical psychedelics (LSD, psilocybin, mescaline) because the amphetamine backed trip will cause increase in heart rate and blood pressure. I don't see it as a problem for anyone with any desire to exercise or run though.

I would say take anything, especially LSD, and run for miles and miles and have a great, beautiful adventure. You won't get tired and it will make for a great trip. Just drink tons and try to eat once even though it may be hard.

Basically, to create a problem the person would have to have a history of cardiovascular issues, breathing illnesses, smoke induced lung infections, or a vast combination of health issues that have negative effect on a person when pertaining to physical limitations. Persons in this field may not be able to go for a run while on amphetamines or phenethylamines or tryptamines, and maybe they can.

Although, a person without preexisting medical history in such areas or any of issues of thus sort, should have no problem with any physical activity while on amphetamines, phenethylamines, or tryptamines, especially at a responsible dose. I believe you would be more accurate, focused, intelligent, tactical, and have more endurance then you do while you participate in any physical activity while sober. Whether it be a sport, running, swimming, or any other physical activity, I believe you would be better and have experienced it myself.
