LSD for self help???

I'm an introverted person who wants to try LSD for a permanent change in my outlook of life.

I'm a junior in college and have tried shrooms once, 1.2g, and didn't trip out. Just felt a little intoxicated and good.

I've had my first serious relationship freshman year, where I had my first kiss and first sex. Since then I've used alcohol as a crutch to hook up with a very cute and shy friend of mine.

I'm a good looking, tall, muscular guy. I know exactly what to go to pick up girls, and they have even thrown themselves at me to receive no reaction. I have a mental block. I have anxiety. However, I have no anxiety when it comes to ANYTHING else.

I want to take LSD to reflect on life. I'm tired of everything in the world. I'm tired of putting energy into relationships (even friends). I'm not emotional. I'm tired of meeting people and following the same routines. I don't care about people.

I need a complete change in the way I think about everything. I want to know if you guys think this is too risky. I'm well aware of proper set and setting and would have the abort tools at hand just in case.
 
You can't take LSD expecting it to solve your problems; it won't be anything like you expect it to be anyways. To get the most out of an LSD trip, rid yourself of any expectations you have for the experience.
 
Yeah man you're setting yourself up for dissapointment. LSD isn't a new life in a molecule.

Why don't you try working on this without LSD, and when you are really going someplace, try taking LSD. And don't expect a damn thing, except for an acid trip. Nothing else.

No offense intended, but you sound like you just lurked PD for a while and read about peopled life changing LSD trips and now you think you have the recipe for a new life. It doesn't work like that, at all. LSD changes lives when a massive amount of tiny variables all work out perfectly and the trip shows you exactly what you need, not exactly what you want.
 
I was just thinking people take it for enlightenment, and not just to get fucked up (even though people take it for that too).

I'm expecting some sort of enlightenment to come from the experience... I think you guys are right about going into the trip without any expectations though.

Yeah, you might feel enlightened during the trip, but for many (including myself), you are the same person at the end of trip as you were at the beginning. LSD can change personalities, but for me it is a much more subtle addition to my life outlook (while appreciated). I've worked through some issues in my life on LSD, and I think it was beneficial, but it didn't really change who I was.

Also, I wouldn't expect a low dose trip to do much. But then at the same time, a high dose will probably be too distracting/confusing to do much (productive) thinking. Good luck in your endeavors
 
The administration of reasonable dosages of LSD in a comfortable set and setting to individuals without personal or family history of schizophrenia or other severe mental disorders is almost never a bad idea in my book. ;)

I have a strong feeling LSD can help you. I'd recommend you try it. It might not really do anything for you the first time you trip - as NearJat pointed out, for a trip to be life changing, conditions have to be right. It didn't work for me until I dosed for the fourth time. If your first couple attempts result in simply difficult experiences, you shouldn't get discouraged. You'll KNOW when acid's really doing what it's supposed to do.

And of course, while I believe psychedelics are especially effective when dealing with emotional problems, they're not a panacea, so keep that in mind.

Cool, thanks. I've read many reports online about LSD and MDMA also. People say they have a permanent positive outlook on life after MDMA also. A cure for depression in the select few... Again I'm not accepting it as a miracle drug but It's definitely on my to do list also.
 
I went into my first acid trip in pretty much the same mindset was you; I was having a lot of trouble at university with study and relationships and I wanted a big change. If anything all it really did was make me more confused about everything, and left my brain scattered for a good couple of days afterwards.

I'm not saying it won't be good for you, but you do have to be quite careful as dropping a tab is by no means going to be a miracle cure for all your problems. That having been said, it does seem as though you're in a considerably better mindset at the moment than I was when I tried acid for the first time, so you've probably got a much better chance of getting something really good out of it.

Dont get me wrong, your intentions are on the right track. We're all just saying that and LSD trip is of completely subjective importance.

Psychedelics are pretty unpredictable, just because you have respectful intentions with them doesn't promise that you'll get what you're looking for. In my experience, and it looks like at least one other, taking a psychedelic in stressful period of your life seeking a "new perspective" usually leads to more confusion.

And for the record, you should take LSD. :) Not for enlightenment, not to get fucked up, just take some Lucy with some close friends or by yourself in nature. You won't regret that, I don't see how you could :)
 
Roger&Me's advice is the best out there. Don't have any expectations. You have know idea what it'll be like.
 
LSD brings 50% of the experience and you bring the other 50%. It can't turn Adolf Hitler into Jesus Christ. It can be a very emotional, cathartic, euphoric few hours and I think that's more than enough for anyone. You can't expect it to make you a different person overnight.
 
ya i have yet to be enlightened by lsd. i mean sure while i was on it i looked at things differently and for sure had a great time but if anything lsd just made me think of the problems i had and made me a little nervous. it didnt lead me to any solution..

but like everyone else said. lsd will show u great enlightenment when you least expect it
 
From the looks of your post, I believe that LSD can definitely help you.

One thing I noticed is your extensive use of 'I' and her counterparts. LSD will definitely help you rid yourself of yourself if you know what I mean :p

Make sure to go in with a mission; have a to do list with questions and things you would like to think about....the rest will follow suit. Be careful and don't forget to have fun.

I'd have to agree as well. Like many big changes in life, your conscious effort will only get you part of the way. I believe that to find the kind of change you're looking for, you can't really be looking for it, you sort of just have to let it happen when it does. The best things I have gotten from using LSD have been complete surprises, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

That's the way I see it, anyway.

I know what you mean, although I've never experienced it. Maybe ego death can show me the light and open new doors in my subconscious mind for my conscious self to walk thorough later on?

Also, on my low dose of shrooms I hated the "man made" indoors. I think I'm going to have to find a place outside to do this.

The only problem I have so far is actually finding it. The only source I know if costs $15/hit, which is apparently way too high for south Florida.
 
Everytime I tried doing what you talk about doing on LSD I just get really really sad and the trip begins to take a turn for the worst......

your best bet is to take some mdma if you want to think about life.....

it all depends on setting... do you plan to trip alone and reflect? that will certainly have an impact, positive or negative... but it will certainly be introspective....

personally i find high dose ketamine taken alone in a dark room with music the most introspective trip i've had... i true journey into my psyche

if you trip with good friends, you'll probably just end up laughing you ass off, and saying stupid stuff....
