Well I figured I'd do a little write up on my first turn tripping on acid. This was NYE, and me and a few mates had gone out into the bush to this little underground doof. We hadn't taken any drugs up there ourself, but ran into a guy with a vial of liquid acid. So at about 10pm new years night we got a drop off each off him.
We spent the next little while on the dancefloor, and though I wasn't seeing any visuals as yet I started to feel a little "disconnected". After awhile I suggested to the mate who took the other drop we go for a wander out in the bush away from the dance floor. As we started to head out I began to notice the hallucinations. A lot of the trees/stumps we passed would morph into some sort of skeletal/humanoid form, and bushes etc would look like small creatures. Eventually we reached a clearing in the woods, with what I found out later was a huge fallen tree which had landed inside the dried out river bed, but at the time it looked like some form of alien spacecraft. We got into the river bed and explored further upstream, at one point I passed a log which seemed to have a large dragon on it regarding me intently. After awhile my mate called out "dude, this ground isn't really ground anymore", I looked down and the leaves and objects at my feet had turned into a swirling mass of snakes, and it seemed to lose all sense of "hardness", instead being soft and malleable.
Eventually we made it back to the dancefloor, and for a time I was lost in the music. Eventually I had to get away from the noise and lights however, and ventured back into the forest on my own. Suddenly I began to see people everywhere, people would be sitting down on the bush floor as I walked past, holding up their cans to me. I'd look further out into the forest and see 100 of skeletal creatures rising up from the ground and stumbling towards me. Son, all the bushes and thickets growing out of the ground turned into bony arms and hands, reaching out for me. I freaked out and turned to run back to my campsite, I kind of lost track of how I came in and could feel the "arms" grabbing at me as I forced my way back through trees/bush.
Eventually I reached my camp, and sat on the car bonnet looking out in the forest. I could still see figures everywhere, walking through the trees, but I seemed to be in a "safe zone" in my camp. However, I started seeing things in the corner of my eyes, and turning around and nothing was there. I concentrated on staring forward, and saw out of the corner of my eyes my mate walk up and sit next to me and start talking, but no sound was coming out, and when i looked properly he of course wasn't there. At one point I looked back at the dancefloor, which had a huge tree at the back of it, and the tree had morphed into a giant tentacle like monster. I lay back on the bonnet and looked up at the stars, suddenly I reaslied it was raining, though I didn't know for how long because I couldn't feel anything. Whilst lying on the bonnet I seemed to be transported inside a club, the rain droplets falling on my head turned into lasers and "smoke" as if from a machine appeared and surrounded me whilst the intense beats on the stage (was playing crazy dark psytrance at the time) reverberated through me. I decided to go and hit the dancefloor again, and I had a very hard time seperating the real people from the imaginary ones. I had to weave quite a path through the camping sites/dance floor so as not to step on someone who may or may not exist (most of them didn't, but better safe then sorry). I tried to dance a bit, but felt myself entranced by the dancefloor, which shifted and fluctuated under the weight of people dancing. At one point it seemed to suck down one of my friends whilst he performed a particuarly vigorous "crouch then hop up" dance move.
Anyway, eventually a full on downpour, plus thunder and lightning started (keeping in mind this is in the middle of summer in australia), and we had to retreat into the tent. I found it hard to sit still, and the sound of the water dripping on the undergrowth outside sounded like creatures running around the tent. I began to see the face of that little girl from the game "fear" through the walls of the tent, and surrounding it. We stayed like that for a few hours, then eventually piled into my mates car while he ran the heater and eventually the trip calmed down, it had lasted about 8 hours in total.
Other random facts about that night: Police AND fire brigade turned up at seperate times (keep in mind this was a party with about 30 people, in a national park like 6 kms from any sealed roads), which was quite worrying at the time.
I didn't go over all the visuals I saw (after the cops turned up I kept seeing those olde timey british police inspectors standing near me and wagging their batons at me), but the trip was very intense visual wise. However, though I felt a small semblance of " disconnection", I was actually fairly lucid during all of it. It should be noted as well, that I was in a pretty bad "headspace" at this time, because I was having some real problems with my girlfriend, who had gone away for new years whilst hinting a break-up was imminent (when she got back she ignored me entirely, and didn't respond to the single text i sent "so i assume it's over?", but that's another rant entirely). Maybe this mood had something to do with why the trip was so evil/dark. However, at the same time, I wouldn't call it a "bad" trip. It was quite an experience, and I definately want to try it again. Now to find more of this liquid acid, ha. Sorry if this was too long or crap or something, but I felt like writing it all down.
