A Surf "Trip" and Sunrise to Remember (LSD) First Time
Just background info: I had never tried any psychadelic drugs prior to this, and I have rolled on Ecstasy a few times, and smoked pot. Anyway, here is my trip story, something I will never forget.
Left Home around 11:00am to Cocoa Beach, Florida on Thursday, 4/17/03. Arrived in Cocoa beach around 2:30. Drank Corona's and a small portion of a margerita. Smoked a little pot. Went out on the beach around 4:30pm, and spent an hour and ahalf out there. Then chilled until midnight, and went to sleep.
Woke up and 4:00am (Thursday, 4/18/03) to watch the sunrise.
Put my first paper hit of acid under my tongue at 4:35am. Watched some southpark for a half hour and then proceeded to the beach with Friend A and Friend B, carrying towels, with a surfboard, and boogie board.
As we walked out, some light began to look a little amplified. Brighter, more eye capturing. At about 5:40am, wasn't convinced it was enough, so Friend A and I went back inside and grabbed some Coronas (beer), smoked some, and I took another hit (dark purple).
Friend B felt his coming on while Friend A and I were inside. When we came back out, we chilled for a few minutes, say about 20 minutes, then they went off to begin surfing and boogie boarding as the sun rose. And right as they left, it hit me like with a Jolt. The sky turned into a siloette. It became lucid and dreamy, unlike anything I have ever seen before.
The trip was coming on, and coming on hard and more intense than I ever thought it could be. (I had never tripped before on anything). The water grew and came in as if it were a driving force, closer and closer. The clouds moved rapidly. As it became brighter, the sky would iluminate itself with an everlasting nuclear blue glow.
The red, orange, purple, sunrise became "nuclear", and I will never forget looking into the clouds, seeing these colors and seeing oceans within the clouds, water crashing on beaches within the red/orange/ and purple beaches in the sky, in the clouds. I saw Sheep, and a shephard, tending to his flock in the neon orange glow of the rise, almost like a moses-like figure as well in the sky.
I was laying down for much of the time because of the intensity. There were white beach chairs stacked up about a sotry high, about 30 feet away and every time I looked at them, they would rapidly twirl and disappear into the sand. Over and over. And whenever I looked behind me at our hotel, and bushes. It would seem so distant from reality. People seemed distant. I was in another world in itself.
As it got brighter, the sky illuminated more of a neon instantaneous blue, like a light switch turning it on brighter and brighter periodically, but insantly making it brighter. The waves still crashed in the beaches in the sky, and then I began my journey in seeing the creation and beauty of the world.
When it was much brighter, when I looked straight up instead of looking at the horizon, the white clouding would swirl rapidly, engulfing me as they swirling at me. I would be taken into flight, and off the ground, unsure if I was even on the beach anymore. My only sense of reality, and trully mean my ONLY sense of reality, where I knew I was safe was an Corona Ice Bucket filled with corona, next to me while I layed on the beach towel.
They were out surfing for about an hour (I can't swim, thus I had to keep myself from accidently getting up and going in), and I was tripping beyond belief. The sunrise became religious in every way, and there was honestly no other way to accept the trip without losing it.
Until Friend A and Friend B returned, I wasn't even sure if I was on the beach, or nonethe less, if I was even alive, in the water, or whether I had even gotten up or not. All I could do was lay in one spot, and view in spectacular amazement, beauty and light beyond anything anyone could ever see. I felt as if our reality could be only what we allow ourselves to see.
Once Friend A and Friend B returned, we experienced a couple funny visuals. At one point we all saw a storm coming in from the right, and Friend A stood up, pretending to be a weather forecaster, showing a front coming in. Hilarious. After this, Friend B and I took a quick walk along the beach, but I turned around quickly because I felt I would get lost if I lost sight of Friend A, since I was so far from reality.
After this, I experienced much of the same, having strange, but little communicating with them until we all decided we were tripping too hard to be in public. So, at about 8:00am, we began to walk back to the Hotel room. Friend B went to clean off his feet and Friend A and I went to take his surf board to his car, as well as his boogie board.
It was a hilarious maze to get to his car. We had to cross a small walking bridge from the beach to the back of the hotel, and then had to proceed through a ton of cars. How he found his car? I have no idea. Anyway, we lost Friend B in this mix, and went back to the room.
Once we arrived in our room, we found Friend B there, and I proceeded to turn off the lights and put in Pink Floyd, dark side of the room. This is when complete utter insanity hit. Until noon, we were in a videogame, the three of us in the room. I felt like Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The way he talked, the way he saw, everything. It was hilarious. I have never had such insane laughter in my life. It was laughter that sounds like a madman laughing. Loud, obnoxious, insane.
For awhile, I kept saying "Insanity! Insanity!" We laughed about nothing. We would watch the screensaver visuals on Friend A's computer while Pink Floyd played, get lost, then look at another screensaver, and continually lose it. For awhile, I also lost my cellphone. I kept trying to find it a few times, but had no luck for a couple hours until I finally found it randomly on the floor.
Changing CD's from Dark Side of the Moon to the Division Bell and back to Dark Side of the Moon(was much better by the way), was a task at times. I continually became fascinated with the color background on my cellphone. I felt completely insane. I could not even think, "I am tripping acid," and if I tried to, I would go even more crazy in my laughter or visuals. The video game just kept on going.
The bathroom was a maze intself as well. Things and visuals coming out of the tile. The marijuana bud on the counter kept growing rapidly into an amazing bud covered with white crystals everywhere whenevr I looked at it. A cord twisted and turned. And I even thought I peed on the floor when I didn't.
A shower was an even more of an adventure. Getting clean clothes out of my bag was a bottomless pit of junk. Lets not even get into my reflection in the mirror. I felt so crazy to the point where I felt if someone sober even tried to sit me down and get me talk to them, I wouldn't have even been able to. I was in my crazy game, as were my friends.
We were insane. We went through 12 small bottles of Orange Juice, tore the covers off the beds, tore up a newspaper, and made the room a complete disaster by the time we left. Friend B and myself tried to leave the room once, but it was too hot and bright outside, and the elevator ride full of people drove us nuts. It was the strangest thing.
Anyway, at about 11:15am, I opened the shades to the window, and we packed up slowly, and watched the Price is Right until Noon. Needless to say, what a crazy show.
We checked out, and were still very much tripping, so we had to find somewhere to go because we were definitely unable to drive two cars three hours back to home. So, we took a very short drive to the Waffle House, which again felt like a game. I could not read the menu, so I just ordered hashbrowns, which tasted like nothing, and we then talked to a friend on the phone.
We tried to occupy ourselves so we didn't seem too out of place from everyone else (playing with cellphones etc.). After we ate, Friend B went outside for some air because he was bugging out from too many people, and we then proceeded to somehow find the mall, caravaning our way through traffic (Again, not a far distance even though I did get a little lost at one point, but we had to go somewhere where we could take up time, because driving three hours was far more dangerous).
So, we arrived at the mall around 1:00pm, and walked around, enjoyed many stores, such as the pet store, and a various others. It was the most enjoyable time at the mall ever. Everything just seemed goofy, without the insane laughter. At about 1:30, we watched a movie (Bulletproof Monk) in the theatre at the mall. And by the end of the movie, it was about 3:15pm. Being capable to drive by then for a long distance, we reflected upon our experience, and headed back home.
Needless to say, this definitely the most amazing sunrise I have ever saw, and probably ever will see, and definitely the most interesting fun day I have ever had. Would I try it again? I don't know. Maybe not. But it definitely something I do not regret, and definitely something I will always cherish in my memories. A sunrise on the beach is probably one of the best places for someone to experience. A surf "trip" per say, as we called it.
