LSD exposed under sunlight for... 20 seconds?

I'm wondering... my friend is saying that sunlight is bad for LSD which it clearly is. And I asked him, does it matter, the 5-20 second trip from the baggie to my bag in the sun? Is that really a big deal?

No that's not a big deal, just don't exposed it to prolonged / continuous sunlight.

That's fine. Sun will degrade them over time, but not even close to that fast. You might notice a drop in potency if you left them sitting in the sun all day, but there's no rush going from bag to mouth or bag to bag or whatever.

The thing would be a problem if you keep your blotters,, lets say, on a top shelf, or in your night stand, or just lying on your desk, or anything like that where they'd be exposed to light (not only sunlight is bad) 24/7. (im saying this cause you've been talking about long time exposure to direct sunlight.. i mean, who'd leave lsd doses on the backyard table ?

Such a short amount of time should be fine, its a gradual slope - the more light combined with moisture and oxygen in the air and heat... those factors will degrade many compounds that are (even remotely) susceptible to oxidation or other chemical reactions you don't want. Phenethylamines are generally very stable, tryptamines less so. LSD is particularly unstable although many say that this instability is highly exaggerated by many.
When is your blotter noticeably degraded? Who knows? That depends on every different situation and the exposure to the degrading elements.

Something nasty has happened to the LSD subthread about stability and storage, for some reason it disappeared even though there are often many question asked about this.

I once left a couple blotter tabs on my desk in the open for 2-3 weeks, then accidently directly under a lamp for like 8 hours. lost a tiny bit of potency, but I still tripped off 1.5 tabs. I thought it would be much worse.
