Standing outside the house I pointed towards the stars just as Pink Floyds seminal masterpiece, Time, came to a crescendo from the oversized stereo speakers and enveloped us in sound…
Trails and trails shone brightly in every direction, as the stars danced in time to the movement of David Gilmours every note, i stood motioning with my hands, playing with them, watching as they grew and shrunk, while my peripheral vision was constantly bombarded with fluroescent fireworks shows, following the flow of the music as did my visual cortex.
My Aunt was beside me and i motioned to her to look upwards, knowing she had never seen anything like this before. I couldn’t wait for her to see what i saw.. I felt such a gratitude that i was the one to show her these stars this night, an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.
She wrapped her arms around me and said excitedly “Thank you, I’ve never seen anything like this before!” A huge smile overcame my face as i was flooded with feelings of joy, to be able to show someone close to you something so beautiful is truly a remarkable thing.
As Time came to an end, she turned to me and said “so this is what its all about huh? This is what you get up to? Its amazing, nothing bad at all!” she said almost in shock. I smiled and simply said “Yup, Beautiful Huh?”
