My friend and I decided to trip. He called me around 7:00pm, came over, and dropped 3 hits, while I dropped 4. We're both pretty experienced with acid, and I had done this particular batch before, so we felt comfortable with these dosages.
Our intention was to trip and ride our bikes around the area, going to parks, friends' houses, and so on. We wanted to get outside, enjoy the nighttime scenery around our area, explore some parks or trails, and just generally wander on our bikes.
T+0:00: We take the acid, and smoke a bowl to ease us into the trip. I am already really high from having vaped with a friend for several hours earlier. We're listening to metal and talking about what we want to do, where we want to go, etc.
T+0:20: I feel slightly altered, the first tinge of the acid starting to manifest. I always define this as 'starting to trip' but my friend prefers to apply that term only to the part after about an hour or so, the first hour being 'coming up'. semantics. We decide it's time to head out, just so that we can check out some greenery while we trip harder.
T+1:00: We've been chilling in this park for a while, lying on a hillside and looking at the stars and the land. We're both tripping pretty hard, having some intense visuals. I feel mentally calm, and am a bit surprised, because I thought this dosage would be more turbulent. Riding bikes is simultaneously a deep thrill, a scary experience, and a work of art. Unfortunately it's still early and there have been people at both the parks we visited so far, so we head to another friend's place to smoke some more and chill out 'til later.
T+1:50: We get back to my place from our other's friend's. The ride was one of the most psychedelic experiences either of us have ever had, and we enter the apartment musing about the riot of color outside. My girlfriend and her brother are at the apartment (which my girlfriend and I share). This isn't a problem, but it does mean that we can't have quite the shared tripping environment that we want. We smoke a bowl and leave, hoping that another park will be deserted.
T+2:15: Foiled again. It's too early, we conclude. By the time we return from this park the apartment is ours again, so we listen to music and look at intense, visually stimulating stuff. A favorite subject of mine is HDR photography (which looks great when done well), and we looked at hundreds of these, generally appreciating their aesthetic, though we did find too many photos of cars, driveways, and other relatively uninteresting subjects for a photo.
T+2:30: We are both tripping fully, with tracers and color enhancement. I feel as though colors are spilling out of the boundaries of objects, and as though all objects are competing for my attention. My friend describes his state of childlike wonderment at the world, attributes it to the acid, and says he's excited for when we finally get to ride and explore in the wee hours.
T+5:30: We get tired of sitting inside and decide it's finally late enough to go outside. We bike around, enjoying the feeling of immersion and motion that accompany riding a bike. We're still seeing shit, and have smoked quite a bit of weed, so we feel pretty good. My friend has been drinking this whole time, and has had perhaps 9 or 10 beers by now. I have had two, and surprisingly enough think I feel the slightest bit drunk under all the acid. I'm still mentally very clear, and am once again surprised by this.
T+6:10: We've been biking around for a while now. It's kind of chilly, at least in my opinion, somewhere around 50F/10C. It's slightly wet, the first hint of rain is in the air. We've checked out the street with all the christmas lights, hit up a park that was previously full of people, and so on. We decide to head up to the golf course just north of my place, as it's very scenic to walk about on once there's nobody on it. We get to the golf course, and as I am locking up my bike, my key shatters in the lock. I wasn't using exceptional force or anything, just turning the key and feeling it catch. My friend locks our bikes together as I drop my ruined lock to the ground. We star walking around, admiring the trees and grass and water bodies and clouds.
T+6:55: We both think this walk is amazing, and talk about how it's stupid that something like walking around the golf course after hours could potentially get us both thrown in jail (my friend has a bit of weed on him). We don't think this is likely at all though, so long as we don't do anything crazy or stupid. It's getting wetter, and a storm is coming up around us. The wind picks up, seemingly dropping the temperature quite a bit. As my friend and I walk back from a remote corner of the golf course to our bikes, the storm intensifies and we start to get pretty wet.
T+7:20: We get to our bikes, quite wet by now, and head home. We both think it's somewhat unsafe to be biking now (and, in fact, it has been for some time now). The wind is gusting, and it affects our assessment of turns. There is serious potential for getting hurt out here. The road is wet by now, great sheets of water cascading down the hills and under the trees. We are almost back at my place, riding up the final hill, when the sky is torn in two by lightning, and turns an electric blue-green all across the right side of my field of vision. My friend and I both see this, exclaim, and stare in awe at the direction we think the light came from. It happens again, and this time I see it full-on: the sky is lit up, turned an unearthly blue-green that I would expect at an aquatic rave, not in the sky. Neither of us have seen anything like this before, and it marks the culmination of our trip.
T+7:45: We peel off our wet clothes, get warm and comfy, and smoke more weed. We get to drinking some more too. I eat a pot brownie I got earlier in the day from a friend, reasoning it will be psychedelic and will also help me get to sleep. We smoke weed and listen to music for a couple of hours, then put on some TV (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
T+:11:00: We decide to nap for a while. I go to my bed and, to my surprise, fall asleep easily.
T+:17:00: We wake up surprisingly refreshed. We smoke a bowl. I still have minor visuals and tracers, and feel somewhat fried, though not as badly as I anticipated. We rehash the trip over a bowl, and my friend departs into the day.
Overall, this trip was unlike any other I've ever had in that I went into it with the intention of riding around and seeing shit. Though biking was perhaps a bit unsafe, we both had a great time, and found this to be much more fulfilling than taking drugs and sitting inside the small, rectangular box that is my apartment. I really enjoyed this biketrip, and will definitely be doing more of them.
I was a bit disappointed that my trip wasn't cognitively or emotionally more turbulent or insightful, but I did gain a renewed appreciation for nature and greenery. I would like to contrast this experience with, say, visiting the sensory deprivation chambers in the south part of town (on acid), or the rave that I will be attending on New Year's Eve.
