If I took 10mg of citalopram yesterday and 10mg this morning, would 1-2 hits of LSD this afternoon (most likely) be a waste?

Is that pretty much all the Citalopram you have taken in your life, or past few weeks at least? In that case the LSD should affect you just fine. Its not a total waste even if you've been on Citalopram for quite some time, my buddy takes it, I believe 20mg or 40mg a day since September and he still can trip, though he usually takes like 4 hits. If you've just taken 20mg in the past 24 hours, it hasn't really built up in your system and really affected your serotonin receptors, so you should still trip the same way you always have. Enjoy it though, if you plan to stay on Citalopram you will require more than 1-2 hits after 2 weeks or so on it.

I was taking it for several weeks but then stopped for 3 days with the intent to take the hits. But then the weather looked to be crappy so I restarted the citalopram yesterday.

...But then the weather was nice.

So given that, should I bother?

Umm...Tough choice, it will still affect you, just not as strongly as others. Go for 2 hits for sure, rather than 1, I think you'll still have a decent effect from it. If this was just gonna be a solo trip and you have a limited amount of LSD, I'd say hold off, but if it is planned with friends and you can always get LSD again later, go for it, its not the biggest disaster in the world if you don't trip as hard as your buddies, maybe a slight waste of money, but its all in good fun I guess, eh? You'll still have a laugh at their antics with your possibly dulled effects and just smoke a bunch of weed and its all good I say.

I've got a pack of Citalopram kicking about somewhere. I got them for depression from the doctor, but I never took them, as it was just an excuse to get time off work. What are the effects of these pills?

There's no recreational effect, if that's what you mean.

How long should I be abstaining from it after taking it for an extended period? More than 72 hours (half-life is 36)?

A few weeks must pass before the SSRI effects go away completely IIRC.

@DonnieC: Unless you're depressed or have premature ejaculation problems, citalopram is worthless.

haha wow its all starting to make sense now.

anyways, im about to pick up some real legit cubes and have the same issue. I have been on citalopram (10mgs a day) for probably six months. I have been able to roll with no problems whatsover, skipping 3 days prior. I DO tend to feel pretty weird when I don't take it so im thinking of just upping the dose of the L...I haven't tripped in a almost a year so im not really looking to obliterate my mind completely, but definitely trying to get a legit trip in. If anyone could chime in, id appreciate it.

When I was on citalopram and escitalopram, they both gave me strange visuals at night, like stuff is bending and morphing, and I also would see like textured wavy lines when my eyes were shut. Effexor also had a similar effect, but not effexor XR. Kinda weird, idk anyone else who has had this strange effect.
