LSD causing fast, painful heart rate

I have tried looking up a ton of solutions and potential causes of this but have found nothing that has help and i am extremely concerned that i will never be able to enjoy LSD again. Last Saturday I took 2 tabs and hung out at my house all day because my parents aren't home on Saturdays until around 12 am. I have tripped in parks, on campus where I commute to college, at friends house, etc and have been perfectly fine and never got anywhere near having a bad experience on LSD.

I started to notice that my heart rate was uncomfortably fast and would get faster anytime id get really into something. I found out that I enjoy playing guitar hero a lot while im tripping and I play way better too. I had an awesome time but noticed that every 30-45 minutes I would have to take a break because my heart rate had risen to a level that made it hurt to play. I also tried to skateboard (another one of my favorite hobbies I have never gotten to try while on LSD before because of the setting I usually trip in) and I was also surprisingly better at that as well and really enjoyed it. But obviously I had to stop after five minutes because the combination of having so much fun and participating in a physical activity sent my heart rate through the roof. I wasn't able to skateboard again but I did manage to play guitar hero if i took breaks every so often. Overall it was still an awesome trip, but I never ever experienced such a noticeable spike in my heart rate any other time i have tripped.

Fast forward to this most recent Saturday. When I decided to trip at my house again on two tabs, I had completely forgotten about the fact that I had difficulties with my trip the week before due to my heart rate, so I don't believe that it was a factor at all. But anyways, it was absolutely awful. The best way to describe it was that the more I would enjoy myself and have fun, the more I would be in pain and the less comfortable I would feel. I tried doing the same exact things as last saturday, except this time when I tried to do anything it would happen. Looking at the sky would make my heart begin to beat faster, and then I'd start feeling uncomfortable and have to move. The same thing happened when I'd try to smoke any amount of marijuana, play guitar hero, use my TV or computer, or even from just laying in my bed and trying to sleep. It only got worse because the more that I would experience pain and discomfort from the things I'd enjoy, the more my mind began to shut down any feelings of enjoyment that I usually love to experience while on LSD. My whole day consisted of moving between my hammock, bedroom, living room, porch, and deck trying to relax and get my heart rate back to normal so I could enjoy my trip, and I never spent more than 10 minutes in one place before it would get so bad that I'd return to another place in hopes of feeling better.

I am concerned because I had thought that the heart rate increases that occurred last week were just a one time thing because they weren't that sever and I still manage to enjoy my trip a ton. After I was done peaking both times, my heart rate managed to return closer to a normal level, but this time I was still left in a terrible mood and still couldn't enjoy anything that I usually would during the comedown whereas the last time i experienced heart rate increases while peaking, I still enjoyed myself during the peak as well as the comedown.

I have tried finding some potential causes but haven't found anything that would be a clear cause of this. I did start taking an antibiotic called doxycycline and took one the day of the most recent trip. I looked it up and found that it doesn't conflict with LSD at all, although it is a very acidic substance that can cause bad heart burn and is supposed to be taken with other food (i did eat other food with it to prevent negative side effects) and I also had a beverage with caffeine in it about 3 hours before I took the 2 tabs.

I keep coming up with theories as to why this may have occurred twice but I haven't found any factual evidence to support anything. I'm honestly terrified to take LSD again if I have any sort of condition that is causing this because I never ever want to experience that feeling again (there were many times I considered calling an ambulance because I was in such a terrible state of mind and thought I was having a heart attack).

I came up with two somewhat reasonable causes to my problem. One could be anxiety, although I've never experienced any anxiety problems in my life before so i really don't know how that would feel, plus I was not in a state of mind to tell if that was the problem or not. I may have potentially been experienced high levels of anxiety because I may have been worried about my parents coming home without even realizing it, plus my brother was home and although he really wouldn't have a clue as to what was going on unless i told him, he would have immediately went to my mom if he had known I had taken LSD.

The other potential cause that I thought of could have been the other substances I put in my body without thinking they would do much. I suppose that it's very possible that the caffeine gave me a noticeably higher heart rate for the first hour or two of my trip, and then the rest of my trip could have continued in that direction due to my state of mind being amplified. The antibiotic could have also caused me to have nausea or heartburn that were causing me the pain and i may have wrongly blamed my fast heart rate. But at the same time, I have also mixed LSD with MDMA and had no negative side effects at all. I feel like If caffeine or an antibiotic were going to set off my heart rate and put me in that much pain that MDMA would have as well.

As I said, though, I didn't find any facts to support either of these theories, and I don't think I will be able to take LSD again unless I know that there was some other factor that I can take out of the picture to prevent this from happening again, seeing as this has already happened two times in a row with the more recent trip being absolutely awful. If I don't find out what the cause is and remove it, I feel like I will go into my next trip extremely nervous and with my heart rate on my mind, which will probably cause this to happen again from dwelling on the thought of it.

If anyone knows anything at all about LSD and increased heart rate, please let me know. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this and eliminate whatever may be the reason that LSD is causing my heart rate to spike to painful levels.

Have you actually had your pulse checked by someone sober? I'm just wondering if the entire thing is psychosomatic. The only times my heart rate has felt uncomfortably fast on LSD, even while dancing or running around, was when I was experiencing anxiety. Most often this anxiety was the direct result of me worrying about my heart rate after smoking weed or taking another drug. On each of these occasions checking my pulse showed that it was in actuality only slightly elevated and realizing this caused the pain to stop.

If you have checked your pulse and it is actually dangerously fast I would suggest not taking LSD for a while. I'd also suggest using a testing kit to make sure you're not getting an NBOMe or something, assuming you haven't already made sure it really is LSD.

I really can't say that I'm sure it was LSD, because I did get it from a sketchy source this time. I went through two people who I really do trust, but I don't know where they got it from. It definitely felt like an LSD trip to me based on the visuals, everything was the way it usually is on 2 tabs as far as what I was seeing, but I also don't have experience with any of the similar drugs to know.

I can say though that the 2 tabs i tripped on last week that gave me a fast heart rate (not unbearably painful though, as i said that was still a fun trip) and they were from a different source that i am 99.99% sure is LSD. My best friend who got me into LSD and has been using it for 3 years got me those 2 tabs off of one of his close friends that he has been getting it off of for a while. He also tried 3 tabs of the same stuff that I cannot be 100% sure is LSD, but he said that he believes it was LSD. He didn't experience any negative side effects that I did though so I don't think it was the actual chemical that caused it, but maybe something else I said I took earlier, or just my mind.

Here's another idea I just had though. Could it possibly be that I just had a bad trip that occurred purely out of chance or a small detail that I don't remember or didn't notice? I've never had a terribly bad trip before, but I'd assume that if someone is having a bad trip they could definitely imagine quite a lot of pain, but at the same time It also happened on a smaller scale a week before from 2 tabs that came from a completely different sheet.

A friend of mine with lots of LSD experience took some mystery tabs and told me she thought they were definitely LSD. They tested to be 25I. Just because someone has experience it doesn't mean they're as reliable as something like a reagent test. People also react different to different drugs, so just because he didn't have negative effects that doesn't mean that the chemical isn't to blame. There have been reports of people dying on low doses of 25I, with plenty of other reports of people taking much more than those reported in the cases of death.

I'd still advise you to take some time off from tripping. Give it a few weeks before trying again and if possible get an Ehrlich's kit within that time so you have a better idea of what you're taking. If it happens again have someone sober check your pulse to make sure you aren't imagining the pain. It is very possible to feel intense chest pain while experiencing anxiety, especially while tripping.

This happened to me during my first acid trip. I was having a panic attack and it made my heart hurt so bad. It subsided once I calmed down. That has happened to me more than once on different psychedelics and I can say that it was always definitely just psychosomatic. I was paying too much attention to my heart rate and it created the illusion that it was going faster and pounding harder.

LSD raises heart rate. Usually the strain on the heart from LSD is minor, although I remember plenty of times when I felt like a day on LSD was like equivilant to a day of hiking in terms of how much work I put my heart through.

One thing I always noticed was that cannabis combined with LSD would always make my heart beat much harder and faster. I would never recommend this combo except to experienced peoples.

Sounds like you can't be too sure what you've had is really LSD anyway. Certainly some other substances that can be put on blotters are more notorious for their cadiovascular strain.
