Sorry if this question seems ignorant, but I'm dying of curiosity here.

What happens when someone addicted to heroin takes a miligram of LSD? What does it do to his addiction?

you better get some heroin in you as well or you're about to have a huge panic attack. Once you're on the h and lsd then you could have a positive trip.

Bill W the founder of AA experimented with LSD as a cure for alcoholism after his primary involvement with AA. Psychedelics as a cure for addiction has been a recurrent topic in research even while being taboo at times. Ibogaine might be the most studied psychedelic in this regard.

TDS has some people who are trying to get past psychedelic over use and who have lingering after effects from psychedelics, so I think I'm going to change the title here from "What happens when..." to "LSD as a help with drug recovery" thensend to the Psychedelic Drugs forum. LSD as a treatment for problems with other drugs seems unlikely to be mainstream any time soon.

I can say without the slightest shadow of a doubt that I would either be slamming daily or dead without LSD. I abused oxycontin and dilaudid IV for almost a year, a friend of mine bought me 2 tabs that made me view drug use as something that should propel life rather than hinder progress.. Totally life changing, awakened a sleeper in me and I am forever grateful for having experienced that awakening.

Ok, Ive been meaning to write up a report on here concerning my progress, but...

I had been on high-dose daily methadone for a couple years - 120 mg daily. I eventually read of people just happening upon taking an lsd trip then not withdrawing (or experiencing less wd). I decided to experiment and began trying different combinations and doses of different psychedelics. Long story short, it has made the trip (lol) down to 32 mg (!!!!!) from 120 not only relatively painless, but also very insightful - even enjoyable in a deep and meaningful way.
What works best for me is to reduce by 1 mg, then trip either that day or the next (my fav combination for methadone tolerance reduction is mdma + lsd). I find that my body and mind adjusts to the reduction with very little discomfort if any at all (oterwise even a 1mg reduction is very uncomfortable for at least a week - including some vomiting (after a couple years these 1 mg reductions are quite a different beast then they are even 6 mo-1 year in).
I must say my rediscovery of psychedelics for this purpose has been so valuable thinking about it can literally bring tears of joy. Its just so amazing to be reminded that I can still... and in the near future will ALWAYS feel good. Its often in the middle of the night when I am in the midst of a session - I have just reduced my methadose and am sitting there thinking - if it wasnt for the extraordinarily valuable benefits I receive from these beautiful chemicals... I would be feeling like absolute shit right now, especially that late time of the night. It just brings pure joy to my heart to know that I have a way out of this that helps me in many ways on the journey out. I just feel its such a "break" I have been given and love to spread the word about it.
Now, I only wish I could get my hands on IBOGAINE... but what Im doing with other psys works and is quite an amazing spiritual experience on the way! Thank you for encouraging my sharing this info.
