Lsd And toxicity with animals???

I heard a story about a vial of liquid in a plastic bottle. a very large labrador snatched the plastic bottle off the table and tore it to shreds. His pupils are saucers and he is breathing quite heavily.

Any ideas on if it is toxic to animals
and if so routes of taking care of the poisoning

An elephant died after it's throat muscles swelled up after a huge dose.

You might wanna take it to a vet? :\

Anti-psychotics kill a trip.. but i dunno how that cld be any use here (or even if it would do anything for such a huge dose)..

Man i hope that dog's gonna be ok.. stupid humans xP

By the way.. blah blah blah :) :\

My friend left a vial of acid out one time and our other friends dog ate it, he was actually a puppy then. They brought him to the vet and he ended up being fine afterward.

personally i would go to the vet. the animal can't tell you if it's alright or not, you're the responsible human it depends on.

Hahahaaa, just keep him comfortable and pet him. Just don't freak it the fuck out.

How exactly would you explain that to the vet? "Uh yeah, he just uh, ate a bunch of LSD. I mean, I don't know where it came from, but yeah he definitely ate it." Not something I ever want to experience, but if it did happen I would do the responsible thing and take it to the vet.

i had that thought too... BUT the love of a dog is usually very strong.
i think it would have to be an enormous quantity of acid to kill a dog.

i'd just leave it alone and see if it's alive in the morning

i'd wager it will be totally fine.

The dog needs to go to the vet immediately. You have no idea how the animal is going to react to the acid or anything else that was in the vial.

The vet won't give a shit about acid being illegal, the vet's there to take care of your animal. At the very least, they're going to want to take blood, keep the dog under observation and probably give it some benzos.

I would never take a risk with my dog if he had accidentally ingested acid or any other substance. And I'd do anything I could to minimize any suffering, physical or psychological. (Just looked at the time, OP, you're probably there actually.) Please give us an update when you're able to.

I hope everything is okay and the dog doesn't suffer too much. I've helped 2 dogs (not mine) ride out unintentional trips and it isn't funny. It's incredibly painful to watch.

i've had a couple friends run into similar, albeit less severe cases with pets. The pets (cats & dogs) have always turned out ok, but probably still best to take the dog to the vet.
