LSD and the truth

When tripping with a partner, family or close friends. Would one be compelled to tell secrets or confess to things that could end relationships, ruin family bonds and lose friendships etc

This might seem a silly question... im not sure. Iv only done LSD the once, and was on my own. From that experience i really dont think so, but not being around others i presume led me into a completely different sort of trip than one experienced with others.

Im talking a pretty standard dose, nothing heroic or anything. My guess is a person would not do this, but id like some input from more experienced users.
 
It'll lower your inhibitions for sure, and I've read somewhere that you are more susceptible to persuasion under the influence of LSD. For me personally though, I think alcohol is riskier for that kind of thing.
 
Iv done MDMA a bunch at responsible to stupid doses that opens me up, but never would it influence me to drop any kind of terrible secrets etc, Just wondered about Acid.

Not really.. No.

If you were drunk you'd have a higher chance of saying stupid secrets or stuff like that than if you were on LSD.
 
It's possible, but in my experience people are more likely to just go quiet on LSD, rather than blurting out their secrets.

However, you might want to reconsider tripping in the company of people you have to keep secrets from. The paranoia I'd feel in such a situation would be unpleasant to say the least.
 
I think I would be more likely to reveal personal things on LSD.

But, who cares? Truth only helps relationships, really. Unless you've got something evil to hide... ¬_¬
 
Ok I suppose what I mean is like, say you're tripping with your brother and you had slept with his wife or something. (Hypothetical, I don't have a brother) obviously this kinda thing you would never tell someone. The question might be would LSD push you to confess to something like this.

I'm like 99% sure it wouldn't but the subject interests me.
 
it depends on how strong of an ego you have in there and the dose of LSD. It may compel you to be honest, it may just make you paranoid or may not make a difference. The CIA tried it as a truth serum, and it didn't work reliably at all, so that must tell you something. Will you say something weird? well possibly. I've let a few inner jokes slip while tripping and just laughed my ass off about it and no one understood what was going on except the people tripping.

In terms of people spitting out stuff they shouldn't while high, benzos are the fucking worst for it! With psychedelics, i can control the experience unless i'm smoking DMT or something, generally, i'm not that out of it to let shit slip if i don't want it to, then again there's always the possibility you subconsciously want to let out a secret and having the excuse of being on a drug makes it a convenient and timely option..... it really all depends on the person and the secret. I've had people tell me really fucked up shit while on psychedelics lol and i've also told people really fucked up shit while on benzos, especially to family members fuck, be careful in that regard!

for the most part though psychedelics do not act as truth serums, they are unpredictable and while you may get an answer or a truth out of someone, it may not make sense or be the actual truth or even an answer. I'd say psychs are far less effective than US torture tactics for getting truth out of people, as is evidenced by the fact that they do not use psychedelics to fuck with people in human torture anymore, at least as far as i know, they should use benzos tho!
 
If you're the type who "has an ego-death" and would be unable to hide the drugs if you knew the police were coming then you might.

Ask yourself if you were tripping and knew the police were coming would you have the sense to hide the drugs? If the answers "yes" then you should be able to trip without revealing embarrassing secrets.
