LSD and Heartrate

I was thinking about doing LSD again in 2 weeks or so. However, last trip made me worry about some things. I took two doses.
First of all, I noticed my heartrate was way too high. Like I overdoses on amphetamines but even worse. I let my friend check it and my heartrate was about 180 ish (again, way too high). I calmed down a bit and as the trip weared off my heartrate was still too high (140) and when I went to sleep it was actually 120, again too high if you are just laying in bed.

I also noticed my fingertips went blueish/purple but I didnt have a friend check it. Because I was worrying really much. So I took some diazepam too calm me and my heart down, and when I felt it working my fingertips would still be blue, so I am thinking it was just the LSD in combination with the panic attack, because the hue of my fingers would change constantly. Because valium would have countered the vasoconstriction, right?

Anyway, I was really hoping somebody has some advice for me. I really love tripping and LSD in terms of intensity, but things like this ruin trips for me.
 
did you test your lsd? a lot of fake lsd is 25i-nbome, which causes a lot of vaso-constriction. valium would not have countered the vaso-constriction, it would only have taken the edge off the trip. if you find your fingers turning blue, a little alcohol can help get the blood flowing easier, or some other blood thinner if you dont drink.
 
Are you sure it was LSD? I have never ever had it send my BPM up like that. How accurate was your friend's pulse reading? Was he tripping too? Could have been power of suggestion.
 
If two tabs make you uncomfortable, try one or one and a half. I'm also curious to know whether your friend was tripping when he measured your heart rate.
 
Are you sure your fingers really turned blue? I am never 100 percent sure of anything I see on acid. I thought I had a rash on my neck last time, but i might have been hallucinating it, it wasnt there the next day. I would think increased heart rate would be more related to panic rather than an effect of the acid directly. I think 99 percent of pyhsical symptoms from acid are not really there, its in your head. I think the safety profile on acid is pretty high, as long as you dont go crazy.
 
Friend wasn't tripping. I am pretty sure it was LSD. The trip itself lasts for 13 hours, with after effects in the 5 hours (Headspace gone, but still small visuals and such). I don't think it is 25x-NBOMe because I simply swallowed the tabs. I also don't think it is DOx, due the duration.

And what is a little alcohol ? 1 beer or so ?
 
Have you taken LSD before? Did this happen then too? If so, was it the same batch of LSD or a completely different one?

Did you have adequate nutrition and rest in the day leading up to your LSD trip?

When your friend tested your heart rate, were you in the midst of feeling very anxious? Anxiety can also make heart rate skyrocket.

LSD will increase heart rate and blood circulation depending on how much you take. It's one of the reasons why people use it for migraines. I have not read research indicating that this causes problems for people though. Even those who have high blood pressure seem to benefit from LSD use.

I find high doses of LSD to be very catabolic, and if I ignore the need to eat I'll start getting heart palpitations, but my heart rate has never gone as high as yours.

Be aware that DOC or DOI can last as the same time as LSD :S
I also have my fingernails blue sometimes and it worries me. I'm glad that I'm not alone to be like too :)

just drink slowly until you feel the way you want to feel. some people dont enjoy drinking while tripping though. it makes me nauseous to even smell alcohol while i trip
 
A heart rate of 120 bpm is not unusual on LSD. It is a cardio stimulant and you should expect your heart rate to be increased for the duration of the experience, including the come down and basically until you've managed to sleep it off.

I also question whether you've had real LSD due to your duration of 12 hours plus 5 more hours of comedown. LSD is more like 12 hours, total, including the comedown. Sometimes slightly longer but usually only with much higher doses.

In any case don't worry about it. You can eat an insanely high amount of LSD and it won't make your heart work too hard. If you go for a brisk walk or hike for 10 hours your heart will work that hard.

I always just considered it good exercise. Unlike some drugs, it's not cardiotoxic, it just gets the blood pumping :)
