LSD and Gaming

I assume one of the more sedating psych's would be ideal, like 2C-C or LSA, since sitting in one place to play a video game is not an option for me on most psychedelics.

I played sonic adventure 2 battle on LSA and just found it increased the nausea 10x and the visuals made it difficult to play the game.

2C-C would be a great drug to play games on. Playing unreal championship on 2c-b was great fun.

I've played FPS on acid before. My favorites are Halo and Counter Strike. There are times when a game will suck you in and you'll be in the zone and shit when you're tripping, but most of the time LSD further dissociates me from the game. So, I'll tend to want to do my own thing in game which can be frustrating to other players. Honestly, I have more fun talking shit to anonymous Internet gamers than playing the actual game.

On the other hand. There are games that kinda seem DESIGNED to be played on LSD...

That's AudioSurf. $5 on steam.

Mario Kart Wii is cool coming up on acid. Holding and turning the stearing wheel and slowly becoming part of the Nintendo universe

Here's my list so far

Games I've Enjoyed on Acid:

Alien Swarm
Quakelive
Magicka
Serious Sam 2
Super Street Fighter 4

Games I did not Enjoy on Acid:

Colin Mcrea Dirt 2 (way too fast)
Castlevania xbox360 (very intense and confusing, kept leaving me wondering what the hell I'm supposed to be doing)
World of Warcraft (Just too dull)

I'm planning on taking 2-3 tabs of some high quality stuff I purchased for emergency party situations a while ago when Dragon Age 2 comes out. I'm pretty sure i'll be in the video game, kicking ass, and shooting fireballs.

yes, the only time i played a game on acid was the first time i took it at age 15 and played super mario bros. toward the end. i was/am usually terrible at that and related games, but in that hour or so of time i was like a Mario-playing machine, absolutely perfect timing and control without any conscious effort. horrifying.

When I'm on LSD I can solve difficult sudoku puzzles in 4 or 5 minutes...it certainly seems to make logic puzzles and such extremely easy. I haven't tried video games on LSD but I wouldn't doubt that it could make platformers and such much easier to win. Maybe I'll try World of Goo on my next trip and see if it suddenly becomes super easy.

I got to level 5 or so on Sonic 2 on the Sega Mega Drive on a few hits of acid without losing a life, I would say that's probably slightly better than how I play normally.
If I play a game on my phone I find my score pretty similar, even with all the mad visuals going on.

I get very mild visuals on LSD, to where I barely notice at all. Maybe like the walls are breathing and such. Unlike on shrooms or salvia or 2c-e where I get tons of visuals. But even on 2c-e I notice that the visuals mostly go away if I'm trying to concentrate on something specific like texting someone. Only if I'm sitting/laying down and losing myself in the experience do I really start seeing a lot of things. But it does seem like I'd score better on any kind of IQ test on LSD, and it makes spatial things really easy to visualize, so it would lend well to various types of games that rely on that kind of skill. Although really playing a lot of video games on an LSD trip seems like it would be kind boring compared to listening to music and going inward.

How much do you dose? Personally I tend to dose beyond the low level when I drop acid, visuals are very much there when your on a standard dose in my opinion. For some form of comparison I've been told the tabs I eat are 90ug and another are 200ug, I tend to eat at least 3 of the 90ug ones if I want a trip (270ug - although I'd say they hit more so around the 200ug mark - guessing acid doses is difficult). :(

Try dosing higher if your interested in seeing more visuals, acid will get a lot crazier than you think.

Geometry Wars
Final Fantasy XIII

Those are up there at the top with insane amounts of eye candy. Have played too many games tripping to count, just had a session of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep on the PSP last night after railing 3mg of 2c-e, it was pretty good! Gotta love PSP for giving you freedom of body position and +headphones makes it really immersive.

I generally like to, at some point if I'm tripping at home, like to play video games. That being said:

GC/Wii
Pikmin 2(preferably multiplayer)
Smash of course
Luigi's Mansion
Paper Mario(n64)

Xbox
Any of the Fables
Fallout 3(It's fucking epic just freeroaming on acid)

PS3
Demon Souls (If you wanna have a good laugh while you die)
Flow (available on the PSN really great game visually)
Heavy Rain
And of course, Little Big Planet 2

Also, I want to suggest play Katamari Damacy the original.
Almost forgot; Left for Dead 1/2 are obscenely entertaining.

I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I personally have found that I perform appreciably better in games that demand very fast reflexes and response times while under the influence of serotonergic psychedelics.

a buddy and I took 4 hits of LSD blotter a piece and ended up playing fifa 11 for a few hours. the field on the tv was waving like a flag and shifting colors. when we scored it felt like a full body orgasm. even when the other person scored on you, it still felt amazing because you knew they were experiencing that orgasm.

as for ability...im 100x better at video games on LSD. Dj hero is freaking incredible. The colors and lights, with the music, and youre in control? incredible.

one time, we had taken 1.5 hits of good quality paper, and 2 of my friends began to play call of duty black ops. I am not a very violent person, and watching them was physically painful. I had to go into the other room, because when I entered the room, I could feel the negative energy.

I find most arcade-y games are good for tripping; Geometry Wars is one I have fond memories of.

Also, Rez HD (xbox live arcade) is fantastic - it's a rail shooter (aiming only-no movement) with music that synchronises to your attacks. The oldschool vector graphics are very stimulating. It's not *hugely* difficult until the later levels, so if you're completely toasted, it's still playable :)

Of course, Halo (3) has provided some much-needed come-up distraction in the past.

I'm curious to see what Super Meat Boy is like tripping :)

That sounds like a sick play I'm gonna have to check that out.

Rez is feckin' great. Only got a demo version around at the moment but even that is great fun. Must get around to finding the rest sometime...

Another recommendation is hands-down my all-time fave ket game - Shadow of the Colossus. Snort ket, play horsey, maybe even go ride a Colossus, or just marvel at the pretty things. It's all pretty fuckin' amazing. If you haven't already then try it - I guarantee you'll see what I mean ;)

PS: His previous classic Ico is similarly enthralling but maybe a bit fiddly if you're truly cunted.

I just thought of the old ass game Bugdom. I bet that would be intense as shit while trippin I need to download that and try it out.

The only time I gotten any real visuals on acid is when I've done over 300ug combined with nitrous oxide, and that was much more of a lucid dream like trance rather where I was visualizing lots of stuff inside my head with great detail. Maybe my brain is different but when I do shrooms or 2c-e I tend to see stuff visually with my eyes, such as the carpet flowing up like stop-frame video of grass growing, or vines popping out of the walls, or just looking at something abstract like floor tile and having it create patterns like a kaleidoscope...for some reason on acid I do not get these kind of visuals...but my headspace is a different story, my perspective is completely different and very matter-of-fact ultra-logical...which seems to make video games seem tons easier, like my reaction time is greatly improved.
