LSD and clonidine??

The two substances I take trips with the most are 2c-e and LSD. The 2c-e is great visually, but lacks a certain edge that LSD has... however it is this same edge that keeps me from taking LSD too much. As many on this board probably know, 2c-e has much less effect on normal thought processes (which can be a good or bad thing depending) and cognitive function than does LSD, or mushrooms for that matter.

I don't take mushrooms much anymore, so I am mainly concerned with the LSD. I know valium, xanax, and similar tranquilizers will minimize the intensity of an acid trip... for better or worse. I realize that on occasion in the midst of a bad trip it can be a positive thing to minimize the trip, but this is not an effect I am usually looking for.

What I am wondering in particular is if taking clonidine before, on the day of, or during an acid trip will minimize the trip in the same manner that benzodiazepines do. I have recently been prescribed the stuff to combat nasty PNS side effects of amphetamine meds, and I must say it works wonders on keeping a clear head while calming down the PNS "fight or flight" inpulses.

Clonidine has lowered my blood pressure whilst on stimulants significantly, and I haven't tried yet but I am pretty sure would eliminate some of the anxiety/blood pressure raises of LSD... especially during the comeup. Maintaining a stable blood pressure while tripping is nice and convenient, but my main question is will this be at a cost that will kill my trip??

since it works an adrenergic a2 receptors (blocks the release of norepinepherine), it seems logical that your lsd trip will be more lazy than if you didnt take the clonidine. it doesnt touch serotonin or gaba so i wouldnt predict it to prevent you from tripping. if you decide to try this please report back on your findings

today i have dosed on 20mgs adderrall xr, a little later i plan on dosing 1 hit of lsd on blotter and another 20mgs of adderrall xr, so i dont have a stimulant crash during my trip. i am also prescribed clonidine and i plan on taking it when i start to comedown. if i follow through with this i will be back to report.

Be careful I'd say. The one time I took 2C-E after having taken clonidine the previous day (it was still lingering in my system) I got the worst migraine of my life. It was as if there was barely any circulation of blood in part of my brain, it felt physically very cold to touch my forehead and breathing out was like breathing frost through your nose. Felt like having my brain sawed in half at around -16 to -18 degrees celsius pretty much (I could go into much greater detail too but it's beside the point). Never had a migraine before, never had problems with 2C-E before. I'm pretty sure it was the clonidine interacting with it because I sometimes get very mild headaches from it alone.

LSD might be a different story, but atleast be mindful of this, if you're not used to migraines it can be very scary and confusing to experience one while tripping balls.

so it started as i said, adderall xr 20mgs, then about 4 hours later i ate 1 hit of lsd on blotter, and another adderall xr 20mgs. the adderall overpowered alotta aspects of the trip, i felt overstimulated but not overwhelmed. i smoked alotta bho and just chilled, did my thing. seemed like the adderall just obsorbed it.
about 5 hours in i was feelin edgy, i ate 0.1 clonidine and kept busy, i felt it kick in, its weird its a physical kind of buzz, could feel it in my head, and muscles, kinda cold, kinda warm, it really feels like a neutral but gentle "buzz". can i assume this kinda buzz is from my blood pressure changing? i ate another 0.1 clonidine and started playin my guitar, jammed for a while, then i ate 0.1 clonidine,

at this point i felt way more mellow and felt like i could experience and express myself with much ease. i just did my usual thing up until about 30 mins ago and i took two more 0.1 clonodine and i am ready to sleep, i hope.

id like to try clonidine along side of lsd next time, and not have any other drugs involved.

ive had those kinds of experiences using clonidine, but no migraine, no pain. just that weird cold to touch.
