A bit of background:
it was senior year of university, clases and exams had just ended so there was a week and half or so to kill before graduation ceremonies. Friends and all were just in a general good mood, school was over, we made, finally finished, good weather, summer is just setting in, Lake Michigan looks gorgeous.
Personally I had experienced before: cigs, weed, booze, molly, lower doses dxm, small bits of opium; thus this was my first real 'psychedelic' experience.

A good friend and former roommate spread the word that he had plenty of acid. We planned a day when most of us were free. I convinced a good friend of mine to trip with me because he still had another year of university and I was moving away.
We were all avid bikers, we met up at the local shop to divy up the treasure.
at 5:00pm all but one of us took 2 hits each. [no way of gauging the #micrograms per tab; all I can say is it was dope acid.]
T+0:20
we've all left the shop and are biking north to our tripping zone. We pass by North Western University. The school always looks pretty, it was too early into the trip to say it looked any different. I'm feeling a bit warm, warmer than normal for the amount of biking we've done so far (~ 3 miles)
T+ ~1:00
We've arrived at Ba'Hai Temple. The trip is just coming up. Mild anxiety feelings, not in a bad sense but in a good way if thats possible. My mind is just really happy, enjoying being with my friends and excited about the possibilites. The two trip leader (one is my former roomy) lead the way as we bike around the campus of Ba'Hai Temple. They take us on a 'secret' bike path that leads us into a park north east of the Temple. This is where the trip really begins and my sense of time leaves me. From here on all times are approximate at best...
Arriving at Gilson Park (I think upon seeing a map that's the real name) our trip leaders take us to what I can only describe as the Greco-Roman Theatre and Gardens. The top level is a lush gardens full of spring blooms of all colors. At this point I'm feeling like Molly, euphoric, enhanced colors, enhanced smell and touch. Every sense is heightened. It just simply feels great.
We all spend around 15-20 mins on our own, exploring the gardens, climbing the stairs of the theatre (out door amphitheater) hanging from trees, just enjoying nature in every way. We all reconvene at the base of the theatre steps
T+1:30-2:00
Our time now is spent enjoying ourselves as one whole group. We dance about, ride bikes in circles through the grass, wander through the garden pathways, jump about doing gymnastics at the theatre base. I walk with my buddy to the beach and am just in awe when seeing lake michigan. We are both swimmers and water polo players. We agree that it would feel amazing to be in the water but, that its just not the right course of action (cold, no towels, etc)
T+2.5
We are all realllly feeling it now. The general consensus from those who have tripped cid before is that "this is some dope acid" I could only agree having it been my first time, I had no comparison, but it certainly felt like dope acid. Some how, it took a great deal of effort, but 2 joints were rolled, even the idea of a third joint was conceived but that would have required too much dexterity. (note to trippers, pre roll your jays!) The cannabis only made the experience more intimate as we passed around the joints in a circle in the grass of the theatre
The sun is starting to go down. The sky has the most amazing colors and shapes. dark blue/black to the east across the lake with a faint moon glow, burning orange, crimson, rouge, and yellow to the west as the sun sets near O'Hare. Directly above us and coming form the south is a massive storm creating beautiful clouds that are catching seemingly all of the best colors form each part of the sky and swirling them together.
Biking away form the theatre took some time. We all wanted to leave but at the same time were enjoying it so we considered staying. Now we are all feeling the acid immensely so the first hundred yards biking was a feat in and of it self. we stopped to rest on a bench overlooking the Willamette harbor and I can only say that the picture I have of that view is the single most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I'll never forget the feelings sitting on that park bench.
t+3:00
its getting dark so its time to make our way to the temple. but first. the tunnel trap.
there is a bike path that crosses in a tunnel beneath the main road from the park to the temple campus. Its a windy hilly path near the water, under a tunnel. needless to say, on acid it was amazingly fun. We rode form the park to the temple campus, had so much fun we crossed the road (using the buddy system) again to ride the path a second time, which led to a third time, and fourth, etc. Its like trying to leave the theatre all over again.
T+3:30
finally we're all together on one side fo the road. we make a pact to continue the adventure. Its not quite dark enough for the temple, and my mate doesn't want to go inside. luckily (as if this area is built for people like us) we end up sitting on the hillside of a golf course. Another joint makes for the perfect set and setting. I have the feeling at this point that the trip leaders had this all planned some how, the gardens, the tunnel trap, how beautiful everything would be. They've tripped here before but they swear there's no planing necessary, its just always awesome.
T+4:00-4:30
I'll neglect the time inside the temple.
My mate wants to get back to our campus to meet up with his other friends so he can enjoy some of his trip with them. understandable but we are in no condition to make it back alone. The group as a whole sets out on bike heading south. My mate though simply heads straight home. how he made it baffels all of us to this day. The only anecdote is one of his roommates telling us that when my friend entered the apartment he exclaimed "I'm SO GREAT at biking on ACID"
Meanwhile the rest of us bike south. the bike ride home is slow. thats an understatement. ITs quite fun. but. scary. and slow. but fun at the same time. Here the buddy system prevails. as we all are in differing levels of intoxication we are biking at different rates. whenever we split up we wait until we can regroup and start again. I distinctly remember being alone for maybe 30 seconds, though it felt like years, right in the midst of NorthWesterns campus. It was such a bizarre feeling, with all these strangers around who I knew meant no harm, but not being with my friends made it a bit scary.
We take pit stops everywhere possible and bike as close to then lake as we can the entire way back to RoPo. in a stroke on genius or acid induced insight, my roomy leads us to a wedge shaped pier. The storm is breaking over our heads, he raises his arms as if to summon the sea and exactly at that moment waves crash on both sides of the pier sending a plume of water all over us. Maybe its one of those you had to be there moments.
T+5:30
Finally back in the home neighborhood but the adventure can't end. We head to my apartment after talking with various friends. More joints happened of course. 4-5 to be exact. Many apartments were visited with no real plan in mind. The party that was supposed to happen never happened, or rater had ended and was out at the bars already. While rolling the jays I think we made up a story about how a party had happened at my old roomy's place while we were gone. Never did figure out if a party took place, there was evidence but Our logic was adding up at this point.
A pizza was ordered. That was a feat in and of itself. Beers were consumed though in all honesty they seemed to have no effect. (could be dangerous) I felt like I could drink 6 in a row and be totally fine.
T+7 (going on midnight)
Back at my apartment we are all exhausted.
The pizza is incredible. Not sure how we sorted the money thing. I stayed out fo that matter. My quarters weren't accepted.. The next few hours are spent with my roommates telling tales of what had happened to us. Trying to contact our lost buddy, making sure he was home safe. eating great food. smoking more joints and just enjoying being together.
No residule effects the next morning. Sleep finally came but it wasn't good sleep.
I woke up to find a document on my computer, i tired to type a story of our adventure... its a laugh to read but i feel its just to personal to post.
All in all I loved it. It couldn't have been a better way to end the semester and begin the summer just before graduation. If the situation presents itself. I'd love to trip the those same friends again, as a reunion. I'll do my best to make it happen.
Thanks for reading, cheers.
