I don't have a whole lot of experience with psychedellics. I smoke my fair share of pot and all that, but I've only done mushrooms 4 times and salvia twice as my whole hallucinogenic experience.
A buddy of mine called me up last night during the lunar eclipse, rather bored, explaining how he just got out of class and wanted to go smoke a joint. He picked me up, we smoked some, and got back to his apartment. He proposed trying some acid that he had had for quite some time (about 3 years from what I understand). I wasn't about to go on a 12-hour ride at 7:30PM, but I figured they weren't any good anyways. He took two tiny white squares of paper out of a baggie, and I set one on my tongue. Sucked on it for about 15 minutes and then swallowed it. We didn't feel anything for about the first 45 minutes, so we decided to call it a bust and go get some food. Old, expired acid? I think not. Right in the middle of us eating some food (about 1 hour after swallowing the tab), both of us started to feel a little funny. Like something was different about the world that we couldn't really put our finger on. The effect snowballed from that point for another 20 minutes or so until we were at the peak.
I'm not going to go into detail about the details of my night, but that one tiny little 1/4" square of paper gave me more insight and more complex hallucinations and though processes that no mushroom could ever come near. And it didn't upset my stomach!!! Although I had really no sense of time, looking back on it my friend and I probably walked around the campus in the middle of the night, talking about life, while smoking bowls every now and then for probably a good 4 hours. I ended up getting home at somewhere in the vicinity of 5am, at which point I was not tripping anymore, but I still felt it.
In general though, I'd have to say LSD was the single most fun drug I've ever taken in my entire life. Period.
