Hi,
this is my first post here as I decided to join and share a report I wrote on my first experience with acid a few days ago. Before acid, I'd only had experience with marijuana, had tried speed a couple of times and ecstasy once. Anyway, here it is:
Consumables over ~15 hours:
----------------------------
Drugs consumed: LSD (3 blotters), Speed (1 point), Marijuana (3 joints, ~10 bowls)
Food consumed: 2 x 600mL Water, 2 x 600mL Coke, Hot Chips
----------------------------
We were headed to <a large music festival> on 26/01/06 by car. Once we arrived at 11:00AM in the carpark, I decided to consume a
a blotter with the Dilbert character printed on it. We headed inside and headed straight for the toilets, not even seeing
a single sniffer dog. I decided to snort a bump of speed to wake and pep me up a little.
We finally headed into the stadium and took a seat up the back. I waited anxiously for the acid to kick in unsure of what
to expect. It was at around 12:30PM when I started to feel slightly different from my normal state of being.
I can't really describe what I felt, but I knew I felt different. Another 30 minutes passed (1:00PM) and my
body was deeply relaxed and even tingling. I could feel the vibrations of the music all through my body despite
being a rather large distance from the stage. This didn't feel like the normal vibrations of bass that often make your body
tingle, but felt drug-induced.
At 3:00PM, whilst in the moshpit watching Mudvayne, I recall looking at the ground and seeing it move up and down as
people stepped on it. I wasn't quite sure if this was a result of wishful thinking or an effect of the acid.
At 4:00PM we decided to go sit in some shrubs and smoke some weed. As soon as we had finished a couple of joints,
I felt the marijuana had really helped the acid to kick in. Everything felt really dreamy, as if at any point I would
wake up in bed and the whole experience had merely been a dream.
At around 4:30PM we decided to take a walk around the market stalls. It was here that I most noticed the effects
of acid. I remember walking through crowds of people and and certain points in time, it felt as if the world was
in slow motion. I remember dodging through and around people whilst believing they, like myself, were moving very
slowly. I would look back after moving from point A to point B and wonder why it took such a long period of time to walk
such a short distance.
The trip off the single blotter didn't really get much more intense than this. This was my first time taking acid,
so I expected a lot more off a single blotter. However, I do believe that the daytime setting of the music festival was
inappropriate which is why I didn't feel the full effects.
At 7:30PM I decided to take my 2nd Dilbert blotter. I went into the mosh at 8:50PM and watched The Mars Volta.
At about 45 minutes into their set (9:35PM), I started focusing on the stage lights and started seeing unusual
geometric patterns and fractals coming off of the glare from the stage lights. Round objects would come off of
the stage lights and spin off amongst the glare emitted from the lights. Where the glare of these lights ended,
so to would these unusual patterns & objects.
This is where I realised with acid that to use it to its full potential, it's best to focus on one thing. I believe beforehand
there had been too much stimuli which is why the trip never really got intense. However when I focused my mind on one thing
such as stage lights, I realised the true effects of acid.
We watched a couple of more bands, then back outside to the carpark. I smoked a couple of bongs and finished off my point
of speed.
Shortly after, at about 12:30AM, we headed home. At 2:00AM I decided to take my third blotter whilst sitting around
talking and watching television. This was when the trip started getting intense and I believe I really got a good taste of
what the acid experience is like. I remember sitting there and looking at the people I was with as I talked. On one persons face,
I noticed an unusual neon pink and purple geometric pattern which almost seemed to be drawn all over his head. At another point,
I would talk to this same person and his head would seem to inflate out and deflate as if it were breathing. Peoples faces appeared
to be caricatures. Noses, eyes, mouths (especially grinning) and ears appeared all exaggerated as if in a satirical cartoon.
Out of the corner of my eye I would always see something moving only to quickly turn my head to find nothing. I also saw that doorways
and other usually straight or perfectly shaped objects would slightly wobble, disort and move. I remember going to the bathroom and
staring at the edge of the oval shaped toilet bowl. It would go wavy thus losing its otherwise perfect shape.
At about 4:00AM I decided to try and get some sleep. Lying in bed I closed my eyes and saw extremely vivid closed eye hallucinations.
So vivid they were that by focusing on them, I would get sucked in further and could appreciate their intricate detail. Among these visuals I recall seeing unusual gold colored symbols or letters, possibly Arabic in appearance.
This is the last I remember as I must have just dozed off. I awoke at 11:15AM feeling fine but slightly scattered.
This was my first experience on acid and I was very impressed. I was impressed with both the experience, and being able to reach a point
where I truely felt the effects of acid without flipping or freaking out. At a couple of points in time, particularly when sitting around
talking and watching television, I felt slightly worried and paranoid, however the trip never really became bad. I just reminded myself
that I was in a safe place and that nothing could go wrong, then everything was fine.
I had done a bit of research on acid including reading various trip reports before taking it my first time, and as a result I didn't
experience anything unexpected. I can definitely see myself doing acid again and hopefully having just a good, if not more insightful
experience.
