Loyalty to brands.

i'm quite partial to Microsoft's fine products. :D

and no, i'm not even joking. %)

[snip the rest of this that would have seriously derailed this fine thread] :o

Tis odd this (not you lacey, just in general). So many people say they prefer Coke/Pepsi but hate the other, yet in all blind taste tests nobody can ever tell the difference. Personally I don't much like either so don't care either way :D.

yo i think i would be able to, pepsi is way sharper tasting, coke tastes mad flat and way too sweet to me.

also i was jus thinkin i dont kno if it counts but i like hot 97 way better than power 105 (hiphop radio station rivals in NYC/north jersey area)

I am loyal to a few brands but they aren't the only brands I will buy.

Honda - those things last forever and my family has owned several hondas. They make great cars.

Kawasaki - I fell in love with the 636.

K&n air filters.

ozarka and dasani water - for some reason I feel like they taste better ;)

heh. honda make great bikes too. ;)

p.s. suzuki ftw %)

I'm all about wal-mart brand lubrication and wal-mart brand--well anything really! I just don't know how anyone can live without a wal-mart nearby. When I walk in to one I am just in pure orgasmic heaven. So much selection! Oh and don't get me started on the wal-mart brand potato snacks and panty hose! Oh geeez.

Everyone thinks they can (including myself) but whenever it's been tested nobody can tell the difference. Even people who are absolutely loyal to their favoured brand get them mixed up. It's a strange old thing. Particularly strange that somebody somewhere actually tests these ideas :D.

But they do... and there's a link to a report of a study right here.

Personally I have them down opposite to your good self. To me, Pepsi is the supersweet flat syrupy stuff and Coke is the overly-fizzy stuff. Another conundrum. I don't really like either of 'em, mind...

Other than tampons and Burt's Bees products I tend to use trial and error and go with whatever works best for me.

That is too funny! Every girl I know is loyal to two things, if nothing else: the brand of her lip gloss and the brand of her tampons! LOL! I may have to add hair products to that. (Bed Head)

i used to like burts bees products until i started to learn what was in them. ew

Adidas sneakers only!

Probably has something to do with discovering Run-DMC in Jr. High....

Same goes for Cazal sunglasses.... none other will do...

I am a passionate supporter of Playstation and will argue till Im blue in the face its the best console, even though I have never owned any of the others...........Ohh and never will.............lol
lol that's funny, because I'm a die hard xbox fan and I'll argue 'till I'm blue in the face that xbox is quite clearly superior to playstation. ;) and I have plenty of times

Not really. There are some brands I tend to be more attracted to for whatever reason, but I have no problem buying another if it's not available or there is a better deal on an equally good brand. I do pay attention to quality, especially with food... generic/Wal-Mart brand food will never go in my mouth because it's full of all sorts of bullshit. I try to buy organically-produced things because it's better for the Earth and also for me. I buy good quality paper towels and toilet paper because if you buy the cheapest stuff it barely works, so what's the point?

But no, I don't have a blind loyalty to any brands. Several people at my work are blindly loyal to Coca-Cola, to the point where they harass you (half-jokingly) if you drink Pepsi. I don't drink soda because it makes me feel like I'm poisoning myself, but I always found that weird... why would you care about what someone else used? Is Coca-Cola the mother of your children? Chances are, it's not. So why do you act like someone is committing a sin against you if they don't use your preferred brand?

It's consumerism at its worst working exactly as intended. Don't be a pawn!
