Stimulants Lowering Adderall / Amphetamine tolerance with Magnesium rich diet

Hey all,

I've read numerous threads about magnesium supplements and how they can reduce amphetamine tolerance as to strengthen the effects of adderall. Some people are saying this has worked really well for them. Now how about if one alters his or her diet to ingest more magnesium than usual instead of taking supps? Think it'd work?

Currently I am taking in about twice the daily value of magnesium (through oats, spinach, nuts, bananas, etc) each day. I take adderall once or twice (and on rare occasions, thrice) a week. It provides less and less of its effect as time goes on. I do not want to keep raising my dose. I want to be able to take 20mg and be somewhat euphoric again (like a year ago).

We'll see how this new diet works. Anyone ever try this? Hopefully it works.

I doubt it will be as effective. While magnesium by itself does help, part of the reason for the efficacy of the supplements is due to the fact that they are alkaline and lower the acidity of your urine which decreases the amount of amphetamine which is excreted unused. (This is why Magnesium Citrate is more effective than the Stearate or Oxide supplements, as it is more alkaline)

Recent research suggests that amphetamine tolerance is quite a complicated subject and depends on many factors. If you get enough sleep and have proper nutrition it is possible to use low-dose amphetamines indefinitely without building tolerance. The big thing to avoid is taking larger doses and/or using larger doses to stay awake when you are tired, ie even if you take several days off and then take a large dose that will induce tolerance effects that are very different from chronic low-dosage use.

If you are considering using amphetamines long term I would recommend looking into dextrostat or vyvanse, the levo amphetamine in Adderall has more negative effects on the cardiovascular system, more increase in blood pressure, etc..

As u can probably guess I'm trying to go about this a more natural way.. ie dieting. Any alkaline rich foods that's help? I'm gonna continue the magnesium rich diet too.

Side note.. I often take 1 dose then half a dose later in the day to have a longer effect. Does this increase tolerace?

Anyone else have anything to say? At this point I'm just looking for natural ways to at least halt this heightening tolerance bfore I feel absolutely normal on the meds.

This is all nonsense. Glycinate is the most effective because of the bioactivity. Stearate is used a a lubricant, its not even used as a supplement. Magnesium citrate is used as a laxative.

OP, it doesn't work like that at all. Magnesium should not be taken with Adderall, it weakens it. I know for sure that you should not take any magnesium with Adderall because I know from experience that it weakens it. You should take it at night, and night only, I used to take it with my Adderall and wonder why it didn't affect me. Now I know why. It does tend to lower side effects though. That is why I never got headaches, clammy hand and feet on it.

Magnesium isn't at all the most important part of tolerance, if you want to lower tolerance, you are going to have to ingest more unnatural chemicals. Sorry but thats the truth.

I am not taking adderall with magnesium at the same time. I'm eating magnesium heavy diet wise on the days I do not take adderall. This would make tolerance lower right? I mean it would at least halt or stop the tolerance from gettin any higher right?

It will help as much as taking a supplement will.

Depressicaa, there is no evidence to suggest that taking magnesium with your adderall or any other amphetamine would lower its potency; as aforementioned, a magnesium supplement or, indeed, a diet rich in magnesium--or just alkainizing foods; miso, leafy greens, other shit we don't necessarily want to eat--should help alkalize urine pH and thereby improve amphetamine efficacy by lowering % of dose excreted in urine unchanged. noen of which has to do with tolerance, which is a tricky, finicky, and under-researched matter.

I challenge you (in a friendly sense) to provide3 any evidence for magnesium rendering either of the amphetamine isomers ineffective.

Best bet is to just take a lot of TUMS on the day youi';re using adderall, with the adderall, afte rit, and before it. a lot more than the bottle would indeicate. and get pH testing strips to test your urine pH--if it's above 7, which I find hard to do, then you know you're absorbing a god deal of your dose. if you're at, say, 2, you're peeing out most of your speed and should take up consuming your own urine, i suppose.
