Low Dose Of DXM For Sleep

I have sleeping problems from time to time and i can already tell tonight is gonna be one of those nights i've ran out of my natural sleeping tablets and codeine and all the chemist's are closed.
I've got a bottle of benadryl dry cough PE here with about 50ml left in the bottle i was wondering if 100ml of DXM is enough to have a sedating effect? i will be in bed watching a movie and i have 1 cone left so wouldent mind feel a buzz of the DXM either is it possible for me to drink the rest with no bad out comes i weight bout 75kg It says on the bottle each 5mils of liquid contains 10mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 5mg of phenlephrine hydrochloride <<<will that much phenlephrine hydrochloride have any bad sideaffect on me????

A small amount of DXM can have a sedating effect for sure, but its easy to cross the line from sort of sedating to the DXM "tripping" effects. For me, that line is somewhere around 50-75mg but I am not a user of DXM very often, recreationally or medically.

If you have DPH then take it with the DXM, the phenylephrine shouldn't have very much of an effect once you smoke that cone!

will do man i dont mind some trippy effects its been almost 5 years seince i've robotriped should enjoy it will maxalon (a tablet to stop your from feeling sick) cause any ill effects?

I honestly can't answer as far as interaction with metoclopramide (Maxalon), I'm not familiar with it and have no experience with it there. I wouldn't worry about the trip lasting any amount of time provided you keep the DXM dosages low...but if you do decide to bring them up, expect the usual 4-8 hour DXM trip.

On second thought, it probably isn't the best idea in the world to combine diphenhydramine with anything close to a "recreational" dose of DXM...So stay below 50-75mg of both drugs, if you can. Lowest dose you need to get some sleep.

ima drink the rest of the bottle (100mg of DXMand 50mg of that other stuff ) and not worry bout the maxalon.....50mg of that other isent gonna make me shit out my liver or somting?

Your liver will be fine, 50mg of diphenhydramine is the recommended dose for going to sleep anyway, at least in your country!

..for some reason they only recommend 25mg in the United States..

Went well had a bit of a belly ache but quickly went away. got nicely fucked up for a good 2 hours watching a movie with 1 eye open lol and when i had that cone fuck me i was rooted then after that i gently drifted off to sleep and some really fucked up dreams lol

This expirence has brought me back to DXM next weekend ima get a big bottle n get truly effed up

An old bump I know, but lately I've been using pst on weekends, mainly all weekend.
From doing this I've found I'm slowly having sleep problems around half way through the week.

So tonight being Tuesday I'm going to try some dxm when I get home from work, early knock off today so plenty of time before I head to bed. Mainly to help me sleep later on but also up for a bit of mind alteration.

I'm just a bit curious as to what dose I should take, I only weigh around 65kg and smoke plenty of weed every night. And I only use dxm around twice a week at very low doses (30mg) to potentiate pst and codiene.

Anyone else tried this, just trying to sort of break my shitty sleeping week.

Captain Brewster, it sounds to me like you might have gotten very mild physical withdrawals from the pst all weekend. IME, opiate withdrawals make it very hard to get a good night's sleep. The wd's cause me to toss and turn, get hot and cold, and sweat, and have restless leg syndrome really bad. The most effective thing I've found to stop these WD symptoms is a LOW DOSE of DXM (around 60 mg). Dextromethorphan (DXM) is structurally similar to Levomethorphan (also an opiate), and actually is the /+ steroisomer of Methorphan, which is an opiate; while Levomethorphan is the/- steroisomer of Methorphan. DXM is a K-Opioid agonist which IME, makes the WD symptonms disappear (like Restless leg syndrome and cold sweats when trying to sleep).

Overall, LOW dose DXM (60mg, + or - 15mg) works fantastic for getting a good night's sleep for people who are in opiate WD's or have Restless leg syndrome.
