Bluelighter
i used to write a lot of poetry last year - i just don't seem to have the time anymore with uni + work and all. anyway i was going through a diary of my old work and i came across these two poems. originally i wrote them both for my (now ex) boyfriend but when i re-read the poems i realised that they were now just poems to me - kinda like when a song that's tied up with all these memories and emotions becomes just a song again. of course the poems will always be for my ex but now i am able to enjoy them as just two pieces that i wrote and actually quite like. hope you like them too -

Lovesong
My tongue traces patterns
In the breath of your mouth
My fingers weave in and out
Of your ribs
Traversing the trajectory
Of your spine
Submerged in your skin
Dipping/diving into flesh
Our pulses together
Beating in the bloodstream
An incantation of heartbeats
Resonating in the ribcage
Lovers
Watch how our bodies blend
Boundaries and merge together
Fusion of flesh meeting
Like hands in prayer
Each gentle touch shedding
Layers from our skin
A lattice of limbs
Unraveled by fingers
Slowly we reveal ourselves
Like an open wound
