Loves Relic
an ode to unrequited love

a stolen glance, a wayward kiss
my heart still bleeds......a wound
i gather strength from memories
small clarities at noon
a fool, i go on letting none abate
despite its leaving so soon

~
but then.....my love, where are the smiles
that once burst from our souls?
there are no more to flaunt and beguile
the pretty masks to lose control

~
so enjoy the wetness of love and youth
of fool's desire ; and hearts of gold ;
the years will soon smooth the rough
when perhaps we all grow old

~
so tearfully i speak the last
like scathing glass that fades ;
no more red left in a heart so sweet
my eyes burn with sad, silent rage

~
the rigid line of faith succumbs
twists contorted and askew
i will myself to keep on and move
before colors permanently change hue

~
in time i shall soon harvest
my hearts wine so full of wrath
i will bless it drop by drop
in my own crimson barbed cup
~

chalice emblazoned with fire
and so painstakingly carved
once upon a young time
by my loving once starved

this was oohhh sooo good!! I wish i could quote my favorite parts, but that would be alot of quotations lol, anyway, this is PERFECTLY written...you really are such a great writer...

Keep on Writing!

Thanks for sharing, chica.

:)

keep writing!! =D

now we just need to move you up to a more challenging form...i challenge you to a SONNET.

I'll even let you pick which kind! =)

my favorite is the petrarchan (italian) sonnet:
abbaabbacdecde

^^^ lol, i didn't even know there were different (defined, i mean) kinds of sonnet. that sounds like fun - even though you didn't challenge *me* as such, but hey ;)
