What changes, over the years...
that makes a day that was so much to look forward to
Now a day that just reminds you you're getting older
And time isn't slowing down at all.
And instead of my mom planning me a party
With little favors and tons of kids and ridiculous amounts of food,
I'm getting ready for work,
And furiously typing out a few more lines of code on a neverending project.
But last night, made it worth it, because of you.
I wasn't even expecting you to remember....
I wasn't expecting you to place my favorite flowers in my hands
And a home-made gift that you put lots of time and thought into.
I wasn't expecting to be woken up at midnight,
To burning candles in front of my eyes on a beautiful cake
With pink and purple glittery candles, for a glittergirl
But the card touched me the most.
You gave me a piece of your thoughts,
And i know you saw me smile when i read it.
That was the best gift I could ever get from anyone....
Something REAL that didn't need to be wrapped
And I'll keep it with me, always.
"Love, Danny" it was signed.
Someday, i'll tell you what i wished for
