I vaguely recall a time
when I was still fucking happy
beneath this calloused skin
a light shines, bright and care free
but it's buried beneath
layers of useless bullshit
maybe the radiance could break through this waste
if I wouldn't constantly feed it

you need to live for something

you need a life
you need a change
or brains splattered on the concrete.

i loved this...short and sharp and like plaz said that middle phrase was one that caught my eye.
