Hi, about 2 days ago, I shot heroin into my right arm. I accidentally missed the vein, closest to my bicep. I started developing a red, hot skin infection. I went to the ER, they gave me antibiotics for it.:D

Now I have no reason to believe that the missed shot could cause loss of fine motor skills in my right hand (such as typing, doing any fine movements with my fingers) unless I pinched a nerve.

Also, right after I shot up and missed the vein, I smoked some Crystal with my friend. For the rest of the day, I was tweaking with my fingers all day, popping the joint in my thumb, in the same arm where I missed the shot.

I have experienced this paralysis in my arms before when I was snowboarding on meth bombs. At the end of the day, I could barely pick up my phone.8(

Maybe someone could explain how this paralysis came about, was it from the meth or missed shot of heroin? I'm thinking it was the meth. It's progressively getting better, but as of now I still have better fine motor skills in my left hand than my right hand (I'm also right handed)

Any ideas guys? Thanks <3

hmm I'm not sure what it could be. It seems you're going to have to go to the doctor again to get it figured out man. If i were you I'd seriously consider taking a break from the hard drugs for a little bit since you've been experiencing health problems due to your usage.

Sounds to me like you just messed shit up while tweaking... I don't think a shot in your bicept would affect your hand all that much, I've shot up many times and fucked shit up by missing and burned myself by shooting in too small of veins before and caused temporary numbness quite a bit... this doesn't sound to me like that.... usually if you are affected by shooting H it is going to happen in the area you shot up in, unless some how the infection traveled to your hand and attacked your nerves.. which would be rare considering you are taking antiboitics. unless the infection is resistant to the antiboitics than i dont think that the two are related, i think your tweaking ass fucked it up by popping your joints too much... you probably didn't realize the damage you were doing bc you were so fucked up.
To anyone who read my drug testing thread that got shut down, I just want to let everyone know that I did get called into drop last Thursday... AND I PASSED! Thank GOD! and thanks so much everyone that got the chance to post before it was shut down, I guess when I read the rules I made a mistake by not looking to closely at the rules about not talking about messing with drug tests, I apologize for breaking the rules, I am still a newbie so sorry for that. BUT to the people who posted before it was shut down, thanks for the input and I hope that people arent too annoyed with me for the post, I was a little freaked out about the random drug testing ordeal, but now I'm good, and on track to being 100% clean from Heroin. It so hard, but I'm getting there. THANKS PPL!

For what it's worth, it's probably sleep deprivation.
It is heavy on the body and most people don't realise (or want to realise) that the answer could be that simple.

Sounds like something induced from tweaking so hard and fucking around with your fingers.... the body does some weird shit sometimes when tweaking that we may not even be conscious of. The only safe bet is to go back to the doctor and tell him about it.. but I doubt it has anything to do with your missed shot.

Probably nerve damage. The extremities of my hands tend to fall asleep easy.

Do you know if this ever heals? I'm getting kinda scared...my right hand doesn't seem like my dominant hand anymore. It feels very light. I have trouble typing, feels week, sometimes inflexible...do you know if I will ever recover from this? Please someone help...I guess I should go back to the doctor, but he doesn't know my history of drug use (even though he has asked me before)

Please someone help...:X

I would go to the doctor and just be honest with him. Your life is more important than a doctors judgement of you, and it isn't like he would refuse to treat you because you are a drug user. It's also rare medical professionals get the police involved in matters like this so really there isn't too much to worry about in regards to that.

Go to the doctor and get it checked out. The best advice anyone on here could give you is get medical attention. Most the members on here aren't MD's, and even the very few that are can't diagnose your problem without seeing you first hand. Get it checked out, your life and health are much more important than some medical professional knowing that you're a junkie.

I had these issues from carpal tunnel. I also swear I had similar nerve issues as a side effect last year from chewing Fent patches. For 2 months i could not feel what I was touching with my fingertips. I could tell I was touching something. But couldn't differentiate if it was a wall, a comb, a pen, etc

I also have had temporary nerve damage from shooting, over 10 yrs ago When a doctor examined it, he said nerves are difficult to predict. Sometimes they heal themselves. Sometime they do not. it could take up to a year to heal, I was told. In actuality, it took 3 months to fully restore sensation in fingertips. It was very scary, indidmt know if I was going to stay like that forever or not. And it was my dominant hand. When the feeling came back it happened gradually so that at first I didn't even realize it. One Day i was like hey! I feel that !!

Give it time to heal. The body, given a chance has remarkable capacity for healing itself. But do no further harm!!

Thank you! Just reading this has given me hope. And I can say since the incident, it has gotten a little better. So I think there's still improvement to come. As for heroin and hard drugs, I wish to stay far away from all of that shit. Not addicted, so why even start.

Anyways, thanks again.

Cheers!:D

Would you mind sharing how you got nerve damage? My hand tends to fall asleep too now, and occasionally gets numb, usually when I'm sleeping.

From the time you posted this thread to now, do you still have numbness in the hand? If so, it is possible you have nerve damage. Nerve damage is permanent and they will not grow back. Please get checked out, I hope the best.
