lorazepam's potency vs. alprazolam's potency

Title explains it all.

I've heard 3 mg's of lorazepam is equivalent to 2 mg's of alprazolam, but I've also heard that 4 mg's of lorazepam is equivalent to 2 mg's of alprazolam. Anyone got an answer for this?

depends how you are. Ativan has a Valium like hypnotized feel. Xanax has a sedation thats strong and thats all. ativan feels like clouded and shit. if that makes sense. lorazepam is way stronger I would ask for a Script for xanax But not for ativan unless It was all that worked but I do think its more potent and a lot drowsier
 
i think it definatly depends on the person and if yer a regular benzo taker..All i kow is lorazepams dont do shit for me i can eat 20 and feel nuthin verses almost any other benzo where if i took 20 or 10 of something else i would at least feel something,like say i took 10 of my clonazepams i would feel something but yet not get buzzed because i been taking benzos for 15 years.Its the euphoric feelin of reliefe that a benzo taker gets that feels good but doesnt exactly get you buzzed or stoned...
But realy i would rather have anything than lorazepams period...
 
I think that chart is flawed. It says that .5 mg's of alprazolam is equivalent to 5 mg's of diazepam when it's really .5 mg's of alprazolam is equivalent to 10 mg's of diazepam.
 
nevermind, I checked multiple equivalency charts and they all said the same thing.......that 4 mg's of lorazepam is equivalent to 2 mg's of alprazolam, not that .5 mg's of alprazolam is equivalent to 5 mg's diazepam.
 
Dude lorazepam is super strong you don't take fucking 10 or 20 pills slowidiot sorry but don't speak if you can't speak right
 
I have no idea which is stronger Mg for Mg. all i can tell you is what ive noticed in my limited benzo experience; lorazepam seems to be more euphoric, my body feels good, while the alprazolam really knocks me out hard.
 
Alprazolam always had more "knock down" power for panic attacks for me. Lorazepam has less. Recreationally I enjoy them both. Depends on my mood. However due to my anxiety I don't really use benzos aside from temazepam or valium recreationally and not often.
 
I took xanax and was prescribed for a year atleast 8 months or so at the least. Xanax doesn't do anything but male you emotional......lorazepam is very stroong and pillow like. I think everyones experiences are bad because they get small mg pills
 
Don't put too much stock into Benzodiazepine conversion charts people. They are a dime a dozen, and they all list conflicting information regarding strengths and potencies of even the most commonly prescribed Benzos.

Alprazolam is without any question more potent than Lorazepam, despite them sometimes being classified as equipotent. If I had to offer a number, I'd agree that Alprazolam is about 2x the potency of Lorazepam (if not slightly more).
 
tbh lorazepam is one of the most useless benzos out of the 12 ive ever tried. (recreationally and medicinally)

as others say though,benzos effects are very subjective and vary greatly from person to person.
 
Alprazolam is stronger mg for mg than lorazepam or klonazepam by about 2mg = 3mg respectively IME, but alprazolam to diazepam is definitely .5mg = 10mg.
 
I prefer lorazepam. It's effect feels much stronger and lasts longer. Not to mention it goes hand in hand with adderall meaning if you feel to getty and have bad teeth clenching while on adderall, the lorazepam brings it down a notch pretty fast to make the feeling just about perfect.

Dude you're 100% wrong.

.5mg Alprazolam = 5mg Diazepam

Back OT.

I have BOTH 2mg Alprazolam bars and 1mg Lorazepam tabs sitting in front of me right now.

IMO, I like Lorazepam better. I love Xanax also, don't get me wrong (I wouldn't have any Xanax ON ME if I didn't :p )
They're both really sedating, but I find Lorazepam much more relaxing.

I don't know about you guys, but Lorazepam has a psychedelic glare to it. It's pretty hard to explain, but everywhere I see while on Ativan seems psychedelic which I LOVE. That's why we are taking these drugs in the first place! to experience different visuals of life. Well, at least the ones who take them recreationally.

Also, most place I see, .5mg Alprazolam = 1mg Lorazepam.

So Xanax is about 2x as strong as Ativan.

But, I still live Ativan better.
