I know Lorazepam is a sedative, does anyone know how it compares to Valium or Xanex? thanks

Lorazepam - brand name Ativan
I believe it's very similar to Xanax in terms of effects and duration. Valium is a longer lasting benzo, much more so than Ativan and Xanax.

64mg of lorazepam? what the fuck do you have a death wish? one time i took something like 10mg and smoked some pot and literally fell down in the street several times trying to make it back to my place to pass out, 64mg is just an absurd dose
anyways, lorazepam is good, i prefer it to xanax, although valium has a nicer feel over all

Ativan is considered an anti-anxiety med. I've given to patients who were so worked up they were literaly climbin' the freakin' walls. Well, after a couple of minutes, they just calmed right down to the point that they fell asleep. I mean a deep sleep that lasted for about 6-7 hours. Now mind you, this was a dose of .5 mg given IV push. My experience with administering ativan suggests to me that taking it when you don't need it is a waste. If I want to fall asleep, I'll just take a tylenol PM, or have a couple of beers. One other thing, the suggested dose for ativan is .25mg-1mg every 4-6 hours by mouth as needed. I'm hoping that 64mg was done over a loooong period of time. One of the main side effects of ativan is respiratory depression. It is also habit forming, and I believe that you can become somewhat tolerant to it also. Please be very careful!!
