Any thoughts about on taking Lorazepam on an empty stomach?? Dosage would be around 3-4mg taken in the morning and the only thing I would be drinking/eating is water to stay hydrated. I'll most likely end up burning up a joint or two of weed during the day as well. Any help would be much appreciated thank you! %)

Not quite sure what you mean exactly, you'll probably feel it a bit more on an empty stomach but it's not gonna make a radical difference...IME benzo effects don't depend as much on how little food is in your stomach as say, opiates (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you're not tolerant though it'll most likely make the risk of passing out considerably higher.

It's fine. It won't hurt you but neither will make a massive difference. I used to take mine on an empty stomach when I was prescribed them. Read the leaflet inside the box. All pills whether or not they are meant to be taken with meals or not.

With a low tolerance as if that is the case.It would have you extremly sedated i would have thought!. Enjoy your benzo experience just be carefull buddie!!!! :-)

Is the Lorazepam (a.k.a. Ativan) as strong of a sedative as Xanax? It takes me about 1.5-2mg of Xanax to get to sleep at night. Wondering what 1mg of the Lorazepam will do?

Everyone's different, but when I was prescribed ativan it helped me to sleep for a bit. Whereas, xanax half a mg would knock me out. Last time when at hospital for MRI, they gave me IV ativan and it calmed me down nicely but not enough to make me sleep.

Everyone's so different, and it depends on whether or not they have a benzo tolerance too. I get strong effects from lorazepam. It can knock me out with normal doses. Best to start low to be on the safe side. 3-4mg sounds like a lot to start with for the very first time if you want to be functional and not pass out or have amnesia.

As for empty stomach or not, it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference. You can also take lorazepam sublingually (dissolve under the tongue) or crush it and take it with water for faster onset.

Very interesting. So, 3MG of Xanax and I start to feel great and I start to nod as I nearly pass out (all at home in a safe setting, intentionally). At first it only took me 1mg of Xanax but I was experimenting after a six month period of use and sometimes taking 2MG and I let someone know what I was doing. I slept for about 10 hours. What a lovely sleep it was too!

Yesterday, for the first time, I busted my Ativan cherry. I took .5mg of Ativan and it made me sleepy and relaxed. I think it's a good Benzo though the half life is longer than Xanax. I just think because it was the first time I'd taken it, its effects were strong. Lesson learned, be careful with "ANY" drug the first time you take it.
