I know this subject has very likely been brought up here before, so I hope this isn't too redundant... but I feel the need to post this because I am so shocked (in a very good way) that this works! I have been on the Fentanyl patch (100s) for 6 years. I recently had someone steal two patches from me (my last two, no fucking kidding!) so I am without my meds until the middle of next week, when I'm due for a refill. Having been on the patch for so long and having done research on the patch and stuff, I had read about Immodium, Tagamet, and grapefruit juice as a way to stave off w/d's but had my doubts about it. However, as I had nothing to lose, I tried it today, using 600 mg. of the Tagamet, waiting 40 minutes or so, then downing 68 mg (34 pills) of Loperamide with 8 oz. of grapefruit juice. I know, that's a lot of loperamide, but with a constant Fentanyl dose being pumped into my body, I thought it was necessary. To my surprise after about an hour or so I started feeling a buzz! Not just making me feel normal, but an actual buzz! Not an intense buzz, but a buzz nonetheless! I am floored! So I wanted to put this out there in hopes it might help someone else! Best of wishes to everyone dealing with w/d's!

Yes, the topic has been heavily covered on Bluelight. Here is one of the main threads on it.

For anyone that is actually using it to taper and not just fill the gap between dosing of their DOC it's best to use it sparingly since it can cause withdrawals.

True, definitely true, my thinking was that one could gradually taper it down once they had found their comfort spot, I figure it would be much easier to taper down from, than, say Oxycodone for example.

I don't know why I couldn't find the thread link posted by Tommyb but I just discovered the miracle myself. It certainly has its drawbacks but for something otc to be as effective? If you want to look at the end of my thread just posted this morning http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/633684-Advice-on-coiming-off-oxy-120mgs-day-in-one-month!/page2. the stuff may have just saved me a great deal of agony. I do understand that it is not the best way to kick but if you cannot handle opiate WD's and have no medical assistance this can, it seems, provide much needed relief.

I have to add that the thread provided in the post above is informative but sadly lacking in scientific data and citations with a few exceptions. People need to get the correct information and make up their own minds based on as much science as possible. I am not going to put a bunch of links to journals but there is a thread from another forum similar to the one in bluelight but with a great deal of citations. If there is a problem with the rules then let me know. On second thought, I am not going to betray this forum by posting from another. I am certain that many people have probably already read much of it anyway. I used to work in a hospital lab and I need scientific data, like LD50, Pgp inhibition, etc. I am sure it's all somewhere in bluelight anyway I just haven't found it yet.
