Loperamide and Subutex: Precipitated Withdrawal

Yes, I've done this in withdrawal and the subutex will precipitate a minor form of withdrawal ime.....it's pretty mild though, it hit my stomache pretty good and i felt pretty punky like worse chills for a half hour or so then it was all better and i felt 1000x better.

I'll use lope sometimes in withdrawal, it doesn't get me high or anything but it does make it so I have a chance at sleeping and helps with the chills somewhat. I dunno if it's because it binds to some other opioid receptors that aren't in the brain, but are someplace other than the gut or what the deal is but it does seem to help. Downsides are lethargy and cotton mouth.

I have come off 120mg of methadone and have been using 120mg of lope everyday sometimes twice a day for about 2 months now. The problem is my tolerance seems to be going up and I cant stop without bad withdrawal. Im also concerned about long term effects. Has anyone elese taken lope for extended periods? If so what were your experiences?

It's really interesting that people are getting wd from lope. Are we talking about full-blown symptoms here ie pain, terrible depresssion, RLS etc? If so, that would seem to suggest that some of that lope is actually making it past the BBB...I guess the large doses you're taking could explain it; bombard yourself with enough of that shit, and I'm sure a small amount could make it past.

Are you just taking the pills, or are you using some of the tricks I've been hearing about to help it past the barrier?

Yes, full blown withdrawal. I take it with cimetidine 1000mg and 8oz. Of white grapefruit juice. I came off 120mg of daily methadone cold turkey using only this and had no withdrawal but now im in the same boat only with lope.

No it doesn't give the PW like real opioids.... done that and wanted to kill myself while it lasted. No it's different for lope, like a mild PW that lasts a few minutes.... waves of chills / hot flashes and the shits REALLY bad. Not like doing sub too soon after dope which is pure agony.

I need some clarification. SubuTEX does NOT have nalaxone therefor shouldn't cause withdrawals, correct or am I missing something here?

I know, it worries me. Im going to try to start tapering but my tolerance keeps going up so im already feeling it just staying on the same dose. Ive got to do something though.

Are you getting anything in terms of a buzz from taking massive doses of lope? I've heard of taking huge doses and getting some type of "dirty high"...i've personally been stockpiling the stuff for a future detox from bupe, and was trying to find out how much it takes to reduce WD (I don't want to have to take huge amounts of the shit)

No not really a buzz but like I said I came off 120mg of methadone a day cold turkey and had no withdrawal until I tried to stop taking the lope. I take 120mg or 60 pills everyday sometimes more, my tolerance is rising at it seems I need more to hold me. It takes anywhere from an hour to 3 hours to kick in and sometimes you get a vague warm comfortable buzz . I also take it with cimietdine and white grapefruit juice. Its going on 3 months now off of the methadone.

Yea at theraputic doses it does not cross the BBB, but at much higher doses than normal some does cross over. This can be increased with the aid of a protein pump inhibitor (PPI's), such as omeprazole (Prilosec), Lansoprazole (Prevacid), and Esomeprazole (Nexium).

What is cv? It's probably something really obvious and ill feel like a tard, but im not familiar it.

Sorry, my fault there. Cv is for schedule 5, im mobile so cant see if you are an actual irish gypsy or an irish american one. But if you are in uk id imagine its like class e? If there is such a thing? Basically its the lowest scheduling of drugs, mainly rx. Id have to look again but it had a lot of random shit on it. But way back when, there were ppl who felt loperamide could be abused. Then it was maybe reg rx, then otc eventually. Prob bc its structure is kind of related to fent iirc? But now you can get it almost everywhere.

No, I live in the u.s.. thanks for clearing that up. I buy the generic big 360ct bottles at sams. They are a fraction of the cost of the small bottles at Walmart.
Im so tired of taking them, and im worried I may do serious damage. As fsr as I know there aren't any studys on longterm effects of mega dosing this stuff. I feel just as trapped now as on the methadone. Im going to try tapering.
