Info Looking up the profile of a member

Usually if I want to look up a member's profile, I'll use the search function to look up his/her posts then click on their name to view their profile. Now what if this member's posts got deleted in a prune, thus the search function showing no results. Would there be a way to look at a member's profile if you only know their handle?

You can use 'Advanced Search' in the upper right portion of the screen and search by user name

^ If they don't have any posts then I don't think that would work. I use that method and usually select "search threads created by user" since its easier to find them, and then "search posts" if they haven't created any threads, but if they haven't done either I don't think that it can be done outside of the senior staff privileges.

Most vbulletin forums have a members list feature.

Bluelight used to run this feature years ago. I think, due to server constraints at the time, it was turned off.

I don't know what the overheads are for running such a feature. As a member, I have, at times, found it annoying that I couldn't find a specific member on the site

However, I would imagine that some people quite like the fact that their profile will, eventually, be quite difficult to find.

FWIW, I'm not sure Google even caches profile pages.
