Take these, now, my seeking hands,
lead me on into the underneath
through that looking glass catacomb
to unveil another archaic scene
guiding these fingers to open caskets
to swallow more through brisk revelations
events that chiseled this masquerade
fueling all the silly costumes I've become
help me bridge this ever-aching chasm
that screams out here from between us
as my understanding is the only elixir,
the sole thread meant to mend this split
this will of mine here, the necessary needle,
with arms stretched wide open as its eye
let our waters kiss here, let us at last blend
upon fertile ground offered by this twilight
so as I conjure my deep and corporeal calm
I go forward to absorb all of our hidden history
from our twisting labyrinth of arising corpses,
our eased sentry of skeletons escaping caskets
with these ready ears here to listen
to the whispered confessions of the dead,
each pleadingly holding out their wick
to relight their plight by this spark of mine
for it maintained, my enduring ember,
light once thought lost in the sands of time
a spark which, so many eons behind,
had once set each of them ablaze with life.
