Im super experienced with Ketamine and find its really the only medication that can effectively treat my panic disorder- unfortunately no doctors i go to are willing to prescribe at the amount that i would need to thrive (~150 mg daily) so ive decided to cautiously look into other methods of aquring the amounts. Any recommendations for safety/testing and what the best methods for dosing are? Im used to IM and Oral troches but i doubt id be able to find anything safe enough to use this way.

You really need 150mg/day of ketamine? That seems like it's in the neurotoxic range.

When a receptor is chronically blocked (antagonized), the body often tries to compensate by increasing the number of those receptors or by making them more sensitive (homeostasis). This is not a good thing given glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter, and excessive glutaminergic activity results in excitotoxicity. 150mg/day seems unsustainable and could possibly induce physical dependence.

I would scale it way back before you seriously alter the body's excitatory balance and induce long-term epigenetic changes.

I don't think 150mg daily would be sustainable. You'll build a tolerance and then need more to get the same effects and even if you don't 150mg every day is still enough to cause health problems eventually.

My honest opinion would be that there is no safe or sustainable way to take any amount of ketamine daily for an extended period of time. It will cause you problems eventually one way or the other.

You can test it with reagents. Depending on where you are lab testing may also be an option. I live in the UK and we have a service called WEDINOS which offers free drug testing. There are others, depending on where you are.

We also have a sub forum dedicated to drug testing. I'll leave the link below.

Im aware of the tolerance but i appreciate the input, i usually take a week off every month to keep my tolerance from building too high. Thank you for the input on reagents ill look into that! Im in the US so ill probably have to find a different service.

You can get ketamine reagent tests. The Morris reagent test will at least rule in or out ketamine to see if there is any in a sample. Other tests can rule in or out other substances

What do you think a sustainable dose is? My doc is literally offering me troches? I didn’t bother asking the dose and said no thanks. I feel like if you accept one thing, they expect you to give up another.

I think currently ketamine is used clinically once per week and if I remember correctly the trenches are something weird like 74mg? I doubt you could get anything daily prescribed but I'm not sure what the exact recommendations are so your physician is definitely the best person to ask

Chronic use is associated with permanent degradation of the lining of the bladder and other organs so daily use is really playing with fire

Daily I don't think there is one because frequency of use seems to be the biggest factor for tolerance and the infamous bladder issues. If it's always in your system these things will happen eventually, or from what I've seen anyway.

I figure it there was anyone out there who had successfully used ketamine daily long term (ie years) without issue I would have met them by now.

Regarding tolerance, I have two or three ketamine binges a year where I'll go through maybe 10 grams over a few weeks with months off between each binge and I still haven't been able to avoid building a tolerance. I need nearly twice the amount to get me in a hole compared to 4 years ago. Of course that's just me.

The thread above would be worth a look. Lots of experiences to draw from.

Yeah good point, I completely forgot to mention how toxic chronic use of ketamine is to the bladder. Daily use of 150mg is sure to eventually begin to eat away at the lining of the bladder (which is, as far as I understand, mostly irreversible). Eventually you start pissing out chunks of bladder lining, as well as blood etc. Sort like have a period, but via your bladder. But unlike a menstrual cycle, the lining of the bladder does not regenerate. Of course, the damage to the bladder will first manifest with more low-level symptoms.

But just another reason to avoid daily use.

There was another thread by someone who experience severe bladder degradation and he even showed images of his situation. I can't find the thread right now but I'm just probably using the wrong keywords...
