Looking for advice on DMT extraction from mimosa hostillis? Simple Question!

Hello everybody, I am new to the forums.
I recently was graced to recieve 500grams of some mimosa hostillis root bark! It is very hard to obtain these days so I am pretty excited. It is unfortunately not pre-powdered however but beggars cannot be choosers.

Anyways, I was just wanting to ask all of you for your personal opinions on what is the best tek out there for extracting the precious DMT? I have performed one prior a/b extraction with okay results but I believe I now have a better understanding of the process in general so I am hoping for better results this time. I already have some VMP naptha and pure sodium hydroxide so a tek of your preference using these would be great but I am not unwilling to go out and buy different materials.

So with that said. What is all of you fine people's opinions on the best tek out there??? I just need the name if it is easy to find on the web you dont need to waste your time posting it here unless you are feeling extremely helpful!! :P I am looking for a tek which will provide very fine pure white powder or crystals preferably..( I know that is easier said and read about than done..)

Agree a simple base extraction would yield smokable DMT. For further purification you could do a 2 stage acid/base extraction but that wouldn't really be needed. A 2 stage acid/base would yield much better results but you'd still end up with slightly discolored crystals. Synthetic DMT is usually white while DMT from an organic process usually is discolored because other alkaloids besides DMT are carried through the process. To purify DMT to 98% would be too troublesome for the average weekend chemist and really not worth the rewards when a simple technique provides adequate results.
 
Thanks for your replies guys. I'm definitely fine settling for some discoloration :P do you two have any specific teks in mind? I know there are dozens of stb and a/b ones out there.

norman's tek without the ammonia wash. just do a reX with fresh naphta and leave at room temp for some days until nice shards are left and you got rid of any oily goo. glass shards are awesome!
 
STB technique and saturated heptane freezer technique for fancy base crystals. Then a xylene extraction to catch the rest, salt with fumarate and clean, clean, clean with acetone for serious snowflake clean DMT salt...which can be injected or freebased for smoking.
 
@MGS whats your routine on making the freebase as unharsh as possible, smokewise?
 
Well both of what I said above. STB using naptha, crsytalize from chilled naptha and sometimes purified further from DMT saturate heptane but this was usually unnessessary.....then a second and third wash using xylene, dry, salt, clean, base in water, xtract with naptha. Gets every last bit I sweare that xylene. :) and both methods get me white nice DMT.

Important note.....I do the naphtha wash route because I can get some nice clean useable crystal quickly...i'd make VERY clean snow by 'freezing' the naphtha from wash 1 till DMT base froze out and made snow...not too much if in a hurry but still CLEAN stuff after repeated wash using sodium carbonated water solution can use ammonia water too....dry in food evaporator....etc

The xylene (2nd wash) took longer but I'd get SO much.

It extracted A TON of reddish waxy stuff plus yellowish oil stuff and neither was ever in the naphtha stuff. This was very apparent when I did a heptane wash on the colored xylene pull...the well dried reddish stuff left AFTER pure DMT was separated by heptane wash was pretty potent, probably only 50% as potent (pulling numbers out of the air) as snow white A1 base DMT but still a good yeild considering :) And maybe this did feel 'jungle spicey' maybe not...it had been a long time since I did an xtrac/crystallize of any sort. Great hobby. :)\

Generally though I'd make DMT fumarate from this reddish stuff and use dry acetone to clean to a fine white powder....the FSAS procedure is how I seperated the DMT from the 'plant based' fraction. The waxy or oily stuff,

THis DMT salt which was then easy to base then if you like it that way.

I may try purifying that way mgs. Thanks for the help! I decided to stay simple and just go with noman's tek. Will post pics in the morning probably will re crystalize then (: hoping for the best lol
