So it’s been a while…

Not sure how well remembered I’ll be, but I spent a great deal of my formative years talking with you reprobates back in the Sxxxx G, Bxxxz, Evxxxxxxe days. Was always a bit of a codeine fiend and ended up getting pretty damn addicted to codeine linctus (3 bottles a day at my worst). Managed to taper off and for the last 15 years or so I’ve been able to get away with taking a single 30mg tablet recreationally.

Unfortunately, I had a severe health scare back in June of last year and I’m now prescribed a silly amount of oxycodone solution on repeat. I was always curious about the stronger opioids but never had the balls to seek out anything illicit. Is it weird that the buzz I get from my oxy doesn’t really feel any better/stronger than that 30mg codeine pill did? The highs are very, very similar; the oxy just takes longer to kick in and the buzz lasts a bit longer too. I think I must be a codeine super-metaboliser or something.

Anyway, I just thought I’d stop by and say hi as I see there are still a few familiar faces around. My recreational days are well behind me (I don’t even drink or smoke weed anymore), but I still enjoy living vicariously through you lot!

Thanks fellas! Feels like it’s 2007 all over again (except I no longer have to spend my lunch breaks driving round every pharmacy in the area and then performing the world’s quickest CWE in the office bogs).

I used to love stalking her on Reddit. She became a power mod with several subreddits, but inevitably (although it took a while) she threw the toys out of the pram. She was a member of Momentum and Labour, but the moment benefit reforms were mentioned, she left them too. "What happened to people being on benefits for life?".

My ex used to see me laughing at my phone, and she'd immediately know it was Evey.

Thanks! I should make a good recovery, but it’ll take me another couple of years and I won’t ever be back to 100%. It’s been an eye opener, that’s for sure. Makes you take stock and reevaluate what’s important in life. I definitely have a renewed love for life, even though “life” at the moment is 14 hours sleep a day, a few balls of buffalo mozzarella consumed like apples and lots of crying over my lost guitar chops.

(Just an old Bill Hicks joke shammy - talking about how much sleep he needed "I need 8 hours a day and about ten at night and Im good")
