Here and Now
Greetings y'all.

So I had spent nearly a half hour eloquently typing out a long list of every drug I've ever done and my history with a whole bunch of different drugs...only to have my computer fuck up somehow and wipe out everything that I'd written. How annoying :X

So I guess to give you a brief intro, I am a 22 year old male from the US who has an interest in/fascination with psychoactive compounds. I have been lurking on this site for ~5 years, never really bothering to post because 1) I'm naturally very shy and have lurker tendencies, and 2) there's so much info on this site, I often feel as tho I have nothing meaningful to further contribute! Still, I feel like I have enough history and experience with drugs to be a valuable contribution to this site...the more people interested in offering harm reduction about these compounds we put in our bodies, the better.

To briefly summarize my drug use and history, I first smoked pot at the age of 14. I still use cannabis daily, but these days its generally only on a nightly basis. I don't like getting stoned before going to school or work, it just makes it harder. I LOVE relaxing with bong rips at the end of the day though. I'd say 5 days out of the week I take a nootropic stack (noopept/choline/caffeine/l-theanine/omega 3/b complex/multivitamin) to improve my performance at school and work. I rarely use stimulants, I was heavily addicted to prescribed Adderall from ages 15-20 (50 mg a day, stopping cold turkey put me into suicidal psychosis) and so I will only take one if I really REALLY need to get shit done, maybe a few times per semester near the end of the semester.

I try and stay the fuck away from opiates, having dabbled heavily with heroin and dilaudid in the past and witnessing first hand the destruction it had on my mentality and my life, as well as the lives of many of my friends including those who didn't make it (never forgotten :() As of my writing this I have 62 days clean from all hard opiates, yes that includes suboxone, and I am enjoying opiate-free life more each and every day. I hope to never go near opis again, making an exception for kratom which is KICKASS! I love kratom. I use it maybe a couple times a month. Yes that seems counter productive being a past opi-head but we all have our vices. I'm not even worried about the kratom, I'm more worried about the etizolam that I have to admit I am completely dependent on. I try to limit my use to 2-4mgs a night, but I'm aware that this is a horrible habit and I'm going to start tapering using gabapentin once my shipment comes in. That addiction really snuck up on me, I've been addicted to Xanax before yet thought I could trust myself with etiz (dumb, dumb, dumb) but I gotta say the tiz withdrawals are FAR less brutal than those of the Xanax variety...jesus Christ. I don't even get a buzz from em, just anxiety relief, if I want a buzz I will mix with small-moderate amounts of alcohol or kratom (and yes, this is dangerous if unless your GABA tolerance is fucked like mine.)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE psychedelics and dissociatives, I've tried too many to count, I did have a nice list going but like I said I accidentally fucked up and erased it all, so I'll put the big ole list of what I've done in the "what drugs have you tried" thread as I feel that would be a more appropriate place. But my favorites are definitely LSD, DMT, Ayahuasca, Mushrooms, MXE, and Ketamine. Of all those my favorite is probably DMT, followed closely by MXE. I also have mad, mad respect for DPT even though it can be downright spooky at times. But yeah I've done the whole gamet of 4-subbed trypts, 2cs, 25x, DOx, you name it...I love psychedelics and will always respect them for the lessons they have shown me. These days however I prefer dissociatives, they're easier on the mind, especially if you have mental issues that stem from a combination of past traumas and neurochemical imbalances (brought on first by heavy amp use, now currently most likely because of GABA agonists.)

Got some MXE getting shipped in and I'm counting the days till it arrives :D I also placed an order for kratom, and got some etizolam coming anywhere from Tuesday-Thursday, and I def have enough to make me last till then, plus I'm getting some gabapentin for generalized anxiety control, and alpraz for panic attacks and bad insomnia. Despite my love affair/mild dependency on downers, I generally consider myself to be in good health otherwise. I practice mindfulness meditation almost daily, exercise at least 4 times a week, and I try and eat fairly well. These days I'm doing pretty alright mentally. I went through a SEVERE bout of depression following getting dumped by a girl I had been with for over 4 years...there was lots of self medicating with downers at the time, and a LOT of mental instability but I feel better and better every day...just gotta remember to accept impermanence because the only constant is change :D I have no doubt I'll be able to find someone who loves me again, I'm still young and I have a lot going for me. I'm extremely interested in a vast variety of topics such as pharmacology, neuroscience, spirituality, philosophy, chemistry, fitness, music (I'm a live music junkie and I live for music festivals, anyone else on here??) If a girl doesn't wanna be with someone like me, well, sucks for her %)

Anyway, I'm rambling, and you're probably all bored as fuck with me at this point, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me I B Profane =D looking forward to becoming a member of the BL fam! Peace love and happiness y'all. Or was it peace, pot and microdot? Something to that effect, anyway. Much love and Namaste to all my fellow seekers, heads, users, and freaks.

I am a huge fan of Psychedelics too! %)

Congrats on being off of opiates, I have finally gotten off Suboxone myself.

And finally, welcome to BL!

^Ha, Captain.Heroin man...like I said I've been lurking for YEARS so I've seen you posting around, so interacting with ya is quite surreal! I want to say, good shit on the opiates man, its never easy but coming back from them is one of the strongest things a human being can do so I have mad mad respect for you there, especially since I'm sure you were in it way deeper than me. I'll definitely be spending most of my time in PD and OD (which is where I spent 90% of my time lurking) but also plan on hanging around TR, the lounge, neuroscience and pharmacology, mental health, philosophy and spirituality, shit you name it! Really looking forward to becoming an active member of this community and thanks for the warm welcome. :)

Welcome ;)
We seem to have a lot of similarities. I may end up having to call you Brofane, amirite?

Hahaha Brofane, I love it! I agree man we got a lot in common. Thanks for the warm welcome to the community, I'm honestly surprised and a bit humbled at how down to earth and real a lot of folks are here

Thank you ComfortablyNumb95! I'm sure I'll have some questions along the way, when I do I wont be afraid to reach out :) I actually do have a question for you personally. So first I would like to point out that Comfortably Numb is without a doubt one of my favorite songs of all time, definitely quite possibly my favorite tripping song and also quite good when you're on benzos, opiates, stoned, shit even sober. But my question is, were you born in '95? If so, holy fucking cow dude you have wisdom beyond your years.

And trainspotter, WOW thanks for all the resources! I've been reading up on all the rules and stuff but won't hesitate to ask about something if I'm unclear about it. I checked out the NMI adoption program and have actually been adopted by Laika, who (based off our limited conversations) I definitely feel would be my partner in crime if we were to meet IRL haha %)

Again thanks for all the love yall. Good vibes all around

Hiya I B Profane,

Don't worry - many, like yourself, have lurked for many years - before joining as a poster of Bluelight. Please try not to think you don't have any significant to give, because everyone does, no matter how little or massive the input is. For instance, if a person just relays their experience they are inputting / helping others in some way, because often others feel that they can relate to the experience and often find comfort in it.

Sounds like the sub-forums http://www.bluelight.org/vb/forums/278-Psychedelic-Harm-Reduction”] Psychedelic Harm Reduction (MAPS) , http://www.bluelight.org/vb/forums/40-Trip-Reports”] Trip Reports , Other Drugs (OD) and North and South American Social & Drug Discussion may be of use to you. The latter is a sub-forum based on locality of which there are three here including European and African Drug Discussion (EADD) and Australian Drug Discussion .

Congratulation on being sober of opiates and if you feel that you may ever need support in terms of recovery, here are a few sub-forums;

Wishing you an ace Bluelight experience!
All the best,

yeah I agree, amazing song.
and yes, I'm 18 and thanks for your compliments :)

I have never heard a song called comfortably numb. Who sings it?

Evey xxxx

Your post just popped up in my profile and i felt i had to reply. The answer is Pink Floyd. You must hear the track, it's an all time classic, from their all time classic album The Wall. The guitar solos at the end/ and a briefer one 2/3 of the way through are incredibly powerful and harmonic, and the subject matter of the track appears to be not very veiled references to heroin and its effects.

You probably mean the single Another Brick In The Wall, rather than the album The Wall?

The single still makes my spine tingle to this day, i think that its the one and only single Pink Floyd ever released as they considered themselves an albums band, but ABITW is spread out into 2 or 3 different parts over the course of the album. The album is very dark but is one of the best things ever recorded imo.
