Actually, this is my second post. Hi.

My interest in pharmacology started when I found my dad's drug/medicine guide in 2nd grade and spent hours reading about dosage, indications, side effects, interactions, etc... then memorizing this info and repeating it like I knew what I was talking about. In 4th grade, my grandmother gave me a set of TIME or LIFE books about math and the sciences, and one called The Mind had a section on LSD. My little 4th grade life goal from that point on was to try LSD. At age 12 I was given lithium, clonazepam, risperidone, paroxetine, and trazodone. Was taken off of all that cold-turkey a year later, which is when my interest in psychopharmacology, metaphysics, and consciousness exploration really started, and then about 12 years of experimentation that ended up here (I'm 25 now).

At this point I'm working in healthcare, hoping to start a master's degree in something-or-other (maybe public health) in the next year or so. It is unfortunate that the only response I can give to patients who are obviously not interested in abstinence is "Drugs are bad! Don't use them! This is why..." I strongly believe in harm reduction and having the right information to make an educated decision. While psychedelics were a huge part of my spiritual practice in college, I'm now mostly interested in how to achieve the same effects through non-chemical means (like meditation, lucid dreaming, astral projection and such).
