I've seen a doctor at school about insomnia and anxiety, They exhausted pretty much what they could do for me and recommended I see a psychiatrist, the problem is that the school only has one come for 2 hours a week tuesday mornings, so getting appointments is a pain.
I'm a poor grad student and just have my school's health insurance. I contacted local psychiatrists (there aren't many, I live in a small town new hampshire. They are all either booked up (not taking new intakes) or do not accept the school health plan. I can't afford to pay for this out of pocket.
The insomnia comes and goes, (chronic intermittent), the anxiety during the days is getting worse.
I'm worried about becoming addicted to benzo's, but they do help during the days.
I haven't found anything that works well at night to help me sleep other than benzo's or a benzo and some other combination but they all have their downfalls:
(klonopin + weed [not legal]), klonopin+trazadone [bad mCPP effects after a while], klonopin + mirtazipine[bad morning effects / sometimes no sleep aid at all]
does anyone have suggestions for who else to talk to about this problem, other drugs to try (preferably generics), I've tried and had mixed-poor results with Ambien, Xanax, zoloft, trazadone, and any OTC/Herbal thing you can imagine
its never been clear what is the root of the problem, insomnia or anxiety (ie. what one is the cause and what is the effect)
All I can say is the days when I haven't slept well certainly make the anxiety worse.
