I've seen a doctor at school about insomnia and anxiety, They exhausted pretty much what they could do for me and recommended I see a psychiatrist, the problem is that the school only has one come for 2 hours a week tuesday mornings, so getting appointments is a pain.

I'm a poor grad student and just have my school's health insurance. I contacted local psychiatrists (there aren't many, I live in a small town new hampshire. They are all either booked up (not taking new intakes) or do not accept the school health plan. I can't afford to pay for this out of pocket.

The insomnia comes and goes, (chronic intermittent), the anxiety during the days is getting worse.

I'm worried about becoming addicted to benzo's, but they do help during the days.

I haven't found anything that works well at night to help me sleep other than benzo's or a benzo and some other combination but they all have their downfalls:
(klonopin + weed [not legal]), klonopin+trazadone [bad mCPP effects after a while], klonopin + mirtazipine[bad morning effects / sometimes no sleep aid at all]

does anyone have suggestions for who else to talk to about this problem, other drugs to try (preferably generics), I've tried and had mixed-poor results with Ambien, Xanax, zoloft, trazadone, and any OTC/Herbal thing you can imagine

its never been clear what is the root of the problem, insomnia or anxiety (ie. what one is the cause and what is the effect)
All I can say is the days when I haven't slept well certainly make the anxiety worse.

well ya dont need a shrink to give you temazepam which helps bothe and basically is given for sleep but the benzo quality stops anxiety also.
The only problem is getting enough and getting a ongoing script from a doctor.
A shrink will give an ongoing script easy, just say yer a chronic insomniac with sever anxiety, you may even get clonazepams for the anxiety or maybe even valium.
Doctors dont like giving out narcotics but they will for a limited time, maybe even just one bottle of say 20 30mg temazepams.
Best bet is to see a shrink however possible, but ill say you must sell yerself and say shit like i dont sleep for like 5 days in a row till i finaly crash from exaustion only to sleep for maybe 2 hours and as far as anxiety look it up on the net and sell it to the doc.
I suffer sever anxiety and chronic insomnia and were talking sever....
good luck

Do you have this all documented? If so, you could probably get a good amount if you show a psychiatrist what you've been taking, and that you can't afford to see him frequently.

Maybe he'll give you a month to start, and if it works you just have to get refills every 3 months
