long term physical pain in right arm from acute mdma episode aggravated by smoking

Hi everyone. I'm new to bluelight and I'm not sure if I should post this in the cannabis forum but the problem started from mdma so I guess I should post here.

A month or so ago I was at a festival and I bought half a gram of mdma, or at least it was meant to be. It looked dirty. It had an inconsistent grey colour and had some green bits in it but regrettably I took it anyway, in two bombs, a big one followed by a small one. I didn't crush it up. Not long after I had come up I was in a crowd of people watching a band play when I felt sharp pains along my right arm and wrist and then I was startled to find that my right thumb had locked itself in a position where it was folded down and touching the area of skin just below my little finger. I couldn't move it back without flicking it up with my other hand. Then if I moved my thumb back into that position it would lock again. This only lasted for maybe a minute or so though and I soon forgot about it. Generally my experience was very potent and I was far more wasted than I would liked to have been but once I had sobered up everything seemed fine and I wasn't experiencing any problems in my arm so I assumed it was just an acute twitch and nothing to worry about. I even took another half gram of mdma (this was a different, alot cleaner looking type) the next day and I was fine. Once the festival finished I went three days without taking any drugs because I was working there, so I had a short recovery period.

A month went by and I didn't have any problems. In fact I pretty much forgot about it all. During that month I had been drinking, smoking cannabis and had a bit of mdma, but nowhere near a half gram in one night at any point. I was generally drug taking in moderation like I usually do (I take alot more at festivals) and I was fine the whole time. Then one night at a friends house we all had alot of weed on us and after a pipe and a big blunt (which I rarely get to smoke) I was very high, to the point that I could barely speak. That was ok though, I've been that blazed before, but it was the highest I'd been since the mdma experience a month ago at the festival and my right thumb started twitching and the pain in my arm came back. I was generally feeling quite hyper physically and kept moving my arms and hands. My right thumb was fidgeting the most though and thankfully it never locked into that folded down position again but the pain along my arm was back. It was uncomfortable and I kept cracking my knuckles and stretching my arms and hands. The next day the pain was still there but duller and my thumb was quite stiff.

During the last week, since getting very blazed at my friends house, every time I smoke weed or eat it the pain in my right arm gets stronger and sharper and I fidget, even if I'm just a little bit high. The pain subsides when I'm sober but my wrist and thumb is generally quite stiff. I didn't take any mdma during that week.

It's hard to locate the pain but I think it is usually most intense in one of my tendons at an area a couple of inches below my wrist. It also infrequently hurts in the muscles of my arm and even in my right pec. The pain is on and off but is severely intensified when I get high and there is alot of stiffness, which may be caused by the fidgeting. It hurts more to move my hand and arm in certain ways (like rolling up squidgy hash into sausages).

I'm 19 and I've been taking mdma for over a year and smoking weed for longer. I don't think I take mdma very much but I've taken a half gram in one night a fair few times before so I don't think the episode at the festival was very unusual for me so I'm sure that mdma was cut with something bad but obviously I can't be sure or know what was in it. This is first time I've experienced any long term physical damage from mdma and it's sketching me out a little, especially because it's my right hand and I'm a guitarist. I'm really confused by what I've done to my body because of how there were no repercussions after the episode for a month and then it was reintroduced by a different drug to what started it. It's weird. This has made my case quite unique and I've failed to find much useful information online so I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I guess I'm looking for advice, explanations and comfort or any information that you think might help me. I've decided to try to quit cannabis and see if that helps and I'm considering going to a doctor. I guess I'm quitting mdma too but I've barely taken any since the festival any way, just a few little lines, and I haven't had any over the last week so I don't know how getting up on mdma affects my arm.

Thanks for reading and any comment you might leave :)

hey flubsy,

weed/ mdma never caused any physical pain for me, i would advise you to see a doctor on this.

besides the drugs, do you live healthy ie diet, exercise ?

is your pulse and blood pressure ok when it hurts ?

I think you may have injured your arm with your first MDMA festival experience you talk about and you may be experience flashbacks in the form of the pain you were experiencing. When high on weed or alcohol for example it is common to experience flashbacks from other drugs. For example after using MDMA I often experience eye wiggles and slight MDMA like rushes when just smoking weed or getting drunk. I also experience auditory flashbacks when high from weed from previous experiences with nitrous.
