Hi,

SWIM used mephedrone from June-time last year. Use got regular, into 2-3 times per week at it's highest, and at roughly a gram a session. SWIM stopped use mid-January, since then only having a couple tiny bumps mid-Febuary.

Since SWIM stopped using it regularly, anxiety has been a problem. Laying in bed at night SWIM has experienced completely unprompted anxiety attacks for no apparent reason when otherwise in a good mood. SWIM can feel strain on his heart with these attacks, it feels as though the heart is clenching up.

How likely is it that these affects are related to mephedrone abuse, and are these effects reversible? SWIM's fear is that he has screwed himself up mentally for a long time. SWIM is only 19 and therefore would rather this was not the case.

Thanks :)

dont use swim here. its pointless, especially when your not doing anything illegal. :P

its probably mephedrone related. theres no quick fix other than benzos. and if you can id avoid that road. try to talk about what is making you anxious with someone you trust.

ah right sorry, i was unsure on different forum's rules on things.

what are the chances of it being permanent?

quite low im guessing, as long as you avoid all stimulants for a long time

I'm definitely going nowhere near it again, however I have this horrible feeling it might be permanent, this is the thing scaring me. It's not even that good, I feel stupid now for getting really into it.

Anxiety is a really horrible positive feedback cycle. If you worry about it It'll get worse and worse and worse. Methylone gave me terrible anxiety for 5 days after it but then I decided to go for a long 200mile drive on my own with some nice music playing and It just all disappeared. The chances are it'll disappear over time. Breathing techniques really help when your really anxious like 7-11s..ect. Also massages help alot.

Mephedrone is likely a culprit here. Your body and brain adapt to life as it progresses though, so don;t worry too much about this being permanent. It may have been a drastic shift in your personality, but that will morph into something else eventually... something positive if you guide it correctly.

Yea I'm sure all that Meph is at fault for bringing out all this anxiety in you. I mean Meph is a stimulant and using any stims excessively can cause mental problems. If you have no history of anxiety and don't have any personal issues that are causing you stress, then I would say the Meph def brought it out.

But honestly I wouldn't worry if I was you. One time I took Meph and then 2c-e a few hours later. I then went online and read that combining 2c-e with SSRI or MAIO's could cause serotonin syndrome and I got scared shitless being that Meph does act as a mild ssri I believe. I was already feeling weird from the combo with this pressure in my head, which is why I started looking it up so after reading that it may not be a good combo, I really started getting nervous. I was seriously thinking I caused permanent damage cause my brain just felt like mush and I had a very strange pressure like parts of my brain were being dissolved or something, talk about fucking anxiety, I was dying for a xanax. The dose of 2c-e was also very low(5mg) but it was effecting me as if I took double or triple but not in a good way. Definetely a bad mix!

I swore to myself I would stop being so fucking stupid mixing RC's if I just came out of that without any physical/mental damage. It was a serious wake-up call about how potent these chemicals and how they're really not to be taken lightly. There were no lasting permanent effects that I have noticed though. Felt completely back to normal in a few days. Brain still felt mushy till then.

I'm actually on Meph right now as i wrote this lol. When I do it now though it's only maybe twice a month, and no more then 1 re-dose with a max of like 400mg. Ever since my first use of this drug, which turned into a 2g/24hr binge, with a 8 hour shift of heavy construction work in the middle(omg it was horrible), I have never binged on it again and never take it multiple days in a row like I sometimes used to.

So just give yourself a while to be rid of that anxiety before fucking around with it anymore. Any stimulant is just gonna amplify it, so don't fuck around with MDPV either!. That gave me some pretty intense anxiety after an average dose also (15mg), so I won't even take that now unless I have more xanax on hand.
