Opioids Long term dilaudid user wants to know: methadone or methadon't?

I've got a hell of an opiate tolerance after using dilaudid every which way for can for the last 18 months.

I recently came into possession of 10 methadone pills, 10mg each.

Are they of any use to me? I've heard methadone is what people use to help kick the opiate habit, but ive also heard the can be quite euphoric.

The question is, will they do anything for ME?

Sounds like you're seeking euphoria and not a w/d remedy right? So as far as that is concerned this is my opinion: With your tolerance it is extremely unlikely that 10 10mg methadone pills will do anything to you but give you some unpleasant w/ds once they're out of your system (but maybe not since it's such a little amount). Depending on how you take those pills (all at once or spaced out over a few days) it can block other opiates you are taking to a degree, but probably not so much since it's such a low dose. If you do take the methadone you need to be careful about combining anything else with it though. One more thing...if you are interested in methadone or methadone treatment I would recommend reading personal experiences from other people first....
 
I would save them for a time you run out of dilaudid, and don't want to be sick. Also, you can use these to kick you dilaudid habit as you seem be familiar with methadone as a drug used to detox off opiates.
 
those 10 pills won't cut it if you're trying to come off a dilaudid addiction (you need way more methadone, planned out, for that)

BUT

as another poster said, they will come in handy if you run out of opiates and are sick. do a search if you havent yet since i'm not sure what your specific aim is

I agree but IMO they will only come in handy when other resources run out IF you make sure to ration them out until you can get more. It is not worth it to be in w/ds and then throw some methadone w/ds in to the mix, especially if you can't get anything else for a few days or more. You will be in a world of hurt. Trust me I know. Methadone w/ds are an agony leech.
 
methadone is potent

if you have 100mg, you'll get a nod (if that's what you're after), how many nods depends on dose

if you're after sustaining yourself during a dry period, it depends on how many mg dilaudid you do per day avg. it could last you 5 days, could last 1. use a dose conversion chart for an estimate, but since dilaudid is insufflated & injected and methadone is eaten orally it will not be a great comparison
 
We don't allow these 'what should I/shouldn't I take to get high?' Type of threads. If you seemed generally interested in kicking and setting up a taper plan, etc it'd be one thing but that's not the case.

If you want to take them to get high, find a good dose conversion and be safe. I think saving them for the next time you're sick is a great idea.
