hi

i take diazepam for almost 4 weeks now, mostly i IV the stuff cause of my past addiction to heroin i stuck to the needle.
Mostly i get DIAZEPAM AbZ or RATIOPHARM vials with 2ml/10MG in it.
i also have pills but i want to hold the dosage low (between 10 and 15mg) to prevent myself from getting an asshole 8) and getting TOO lazy and unconcentrated at work.
well what do you think are the long term effects of Valium?
i treit ATIVAN, Rohypnol, clonazepam, oxazepam, alprazolam.. but all of them made me sleepy as hell, unable to communicate etc..
when i take DIzapam i can't sleep sometimes.
it's redicilous...

The long-term effects of benzo treatment are basically that the benzos start to give less and less effects generally speaking, and the amount your body is dependent on them increases at a rate consistent with your rate of use. Benzos can be used legitimately for two main puroses: 1) to aid a person in a perticularly difficult time in their lives, daily dosing for a period of around a month (give or take a few weeks) followed by a quick taper off. 2) To be used intermittently as needed when anxiety comes up and the dose is to knock out that instance of anxiety. This is generally about two times a week, maybe 3 if you have a short-acting drug like alprazolam (which it doesn't sound like you do...) These are the two main, legitimate uses of benzos. Some people are put on for longer periods of time and given their medical condition, it could be necessary.

For the purposes of anxiety, benos are generally to be used in one of the above two ways, though. Pushing your limits and becoming severely addicted to benzos is not something to take lightly, as you must taper as your body has become dependent on the drug. Seizures and other unpleasant things can happen if you abruptly stop long-term or high-dose benzo treatment.

If you do find yourself addicted, as I said above: you must taper. Generally, switching to a long-lasting benzo and decreasing the dose 10% every 1-2 weeks is the general idea, but we can give you much more exact directions if you need them, Just post in the Tapering mega-thread here in the OD forum and we can help you with any taper.

Good luck, and try to avoid too intense of an addiction to begin with. Remember, both the strength and length of your dose both directly effect the intensity of your addiction and thus the intensity of with your withdrawals. Try to keep at a low dose with infrequent dosage for best results.

benzaldehyd, there's really no reason to provide pictures of the stuff. Just discuss the issues you are having!

sorry.
well i take the valium for my panic attacks and it took me 14 doctors to find the right medication for me.
i just don't want to turn into a psychotic zombie after maybe 20weeks of treatment.
also a benzo addiction isn't the thing i want to get next.
but thanks for the Information you provide.
you seem very experienced.
I usually take 10mgs a day.
when my supply of vials is gone i must turn to pills.
is it intelligent to take 10mg at the morning or cut the pills in 2,5MG pieces and pop 2,5 every 3hours or so.
thanks for the reply and sorry for the image...

Try splittling the 10 mg into four (4) 2.5 mg doses or 2 X 2.5 + 5 mg at a time. This has worked for me in the past. I've been using diazepam on & off now for 6 months at a rate of 100 mg per month. I typically found that anything above 15 mg per day would create side effects like excitability, memory loss, difficulty sleeping...! They call this a paradoxical reaction.

I'd have to urge you to use the medicine as infrequently as possible. I havn't used mine daily although recently i have used 20mg in the past 5 days. Even that makes me feel guilty when i use for insomnia.
