Hello Bluelight,

I am freshly signed up after many years of visiting, reading, and gaining knowledge from you fellow bluelighters. Unfortunately, the reasons for my being on this site are because of an addiction that has spiraled out of control. For the past five years I have been hooked on opiates(percs, roxys, hydros, oxy, vics) and have never been able to successfully quit. Hence, why I am posting this. I feel no need to go in to detail of my story, because I just need to accept that no matter how bad it is, it could always be worse. Crying or thinking(not jabbing at anyone) about the why it happened won't fix anything. As far as usage, my intake is anywhere between 200-400MG of oxy, 100-150MG of hydro, you get the picture, its a dangerous amount. Like many others, I dread w/d's, can't stand them and relapse as soon as they kick in. However, enough is enough, and with all the research and hopefully help from you all, I can finally kick this habit to the curb. I've put together a plan that I hope will help. I would greatly appreciate if you all can give me advice, suggestions, concerns, and support throughout.

  • Follow the Thomas Recipe as well as using Immodium, L-Tyrosine, Peridium, 5HTP, Omega(3,6,9)

  • Drink a minimum of 12 cups of water a day
  • Drink ensure daily
  • Eat as much as i possibly can, if not replace with soup, smoothies, or hydrating liquids
  • NO COFFEE

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
BLUELIGHT. I will not, I repeat - I WILL NOT be able to kick this if I don't have all of you to help me along the way.

I understand that all of this seems very unrealistic and foolish to some of you, and yeah maybe it is; BUT I am so damn sick of this fucking shit weighing me down in life that I have to be this precise. Thankfully my condominium has a gym, sauna, hot tub, pool available 24/7. I own several small businesses and I can ensure that I see this through and will be able to keep my mind off of the habit. I don't want to be addicted to Kratom or Xanax, hence why I alternate them some weeks. For the final week, I figured taking some adderall will help give me a push and some motivation. I firmly believe this plan, although long, will be my best chance at finally being clean.

Now, I don't know which Kratom strand I should get, or if I should do a blend(ie bali?) of some sort. Any help with that would be awesome.

Harmalas?
I've done some research into Harmalas and thought I could rotate that and Kratom from week to week so that I don't get addicted. I only plan on using Harmalas and/or Kratom for a month or so(2-3 weeks max each). That's why weeks 8-12 are crucial because I need opinions on what I should take so I don't overdue it.

What do you all think will help me more or should I try both?

Prolonging

The one thing I don't want to do is prolong the W/D's! Who has the experience or knowledge to help me out here? I'm scared I will do all this for nothing!

PROGRESS
I am currently in Week 1, Thursday!!!! I have already cut my usage down 50-60 percent. I don't feel good, but my W/D's are stuck at bay. I have worked out and done everything else to the T.

If you read this and comment - Thanks and sorry for the length and spacing.

Thank You baoozs! I was unsure where to post, so went with the safe choice!

No problem man. That's what we're here for. Wish you luck with the withdrawals. I'm going through them now but I'm cheating (using lyrica).

I really appreciate it runtoparadise and baooozs! Honestly Bluelight is my only outlet. I have hidden this addiction from everyone, family, friends, employees, girlfriends, everyone! It feels good to be able to talk about it.

Looks like a good taper plan. If it were me once I got to week eight I would just quit prolonging the inevitable. Once I got to one pill per day I would not take the kratom or the imodium as IMO you will just be prolonging your experience. At that point you will have tapered and detoxed nicely and will only be coming off a small amount.. the withdrawal from coming off the last one will likely be just another week of what you will be going through every week from the taper.

Here are some other options for medications for acute opiate detox.

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE< >here<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Nice work so far and you got this :)

Have you ever tried Kratom by chance? I keep reading people taking about what a godsend it is for W/D's. Unfortunately, I don't have healthcare(I know, stupid) and just buy everything on the street so getting a script is not an option. However, I've stocked up on xans and wouldn't even know who to ask for clonidine or lyrica. Is there an OTC subsitute? I'll definitely get some Senokot S.

My only worry is that I'm going to relapse if I don't do the absolute maximum to taper and counter the W/D's. So in theory I feel like if I follow the plan I'll virtually have no withdrawals. Maybe, I should get that out of my head because but it sucks knowing how many times I've relapsed. The only difference this time around, is this post is literally the first time I've ever opened up about my addiction. I feel so liberated with BL.

Hell yeah. Biggest cheat in the book. I take it with nitrates for the hypertension cuz I can't get a hold of clonidine and pretty much no withdrawal. You feel good almost lol

I just wish I could get a script for some. From what I'm reading, it's a miracle drug.

Also, is it code to quote the person you are replying too?

The Kratom Mega Thread v3

It works well to relieve opiate withdrawal symptoms because its a opioid. In order to detox opiates we need to stop taking all substances that effect the opiate receptors in our brains. Then we must give the body a chance to eliminate all said substances from the system. Finally the brain has to have some time to return to its natural homeostasis without the substance being present.

This is why many people end up trading opiates by detoxing one, by using another and then just end up still hooked.. just on another set of cuffs.

This is also why the portion of your taper plan when you were thinking of skipping days in between doses would only cause you to stick in withdrawals and will not cause anything positive. So I would certainly eliminate that from the final draft. I believe you are right and by that point you should be in very good shape to just jump off with minimal withdrawal symptoms.

Exercise is amazing for fighting addiction and PAWS, but it can make symptoms of acute withdrawal much worse if done in the wrong way. With strenuous or long periods of exercise we get a adrenal release. The adrenal system is often in over drive during withdrawals and the medication Clonidine is taken to try and control this. So you may wish to consider temporarily changing you workouts to steady and prolonged non aerobic things. This may not be necessary with the long taper and you will know if this is the correct approach if you find yourself feeling quite good immediately following a work out but then much worse a few hours after the workout.

With exercise such as long walks we can cause the production of adrenalin in our brains with out causing the release of the chemical. If we push into aerobic exercise or anaerobic exercise we will get a release, but then as its lost we could experience symptoms attributed by some to adrenal fatigue. strong fatigue is a very common side effect attributed to this and inability to sleep as well.

The gabapentin should be easily obtained from a physician for the purpose of opiate withdrawls. If you find a way to see a doctor and choose to use this medication then its wise to get off of it after two weeks as it can cause dependence of its own. Very unlikely that you will experience much if any after two or three weeks. The same doctor would probably be willing to subscribe the clonidine for the withdrawal as well.

If you are having some financial woes at this time and are in the US you may qualify for free health care and may want to visit either the gov health care site or the one for you state to check and see.

And it certainly does feel good to talk about whats up.. there are a lot of good people who are members here at BL:D

Great advice. I'm now off methadone at all. Haven't yet managed to exercise but am willing to try harder.
Something odd happened. I started to feel an acute pain from a surgery I had done few years ago.
I know I can't use opiates, what else could work?

I guess I was not feeling that before due to my methadone intake. Any suggestion?

Update:

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to drop by and let everyone know I made it, sort of.

I tapered down to 20mgs everyday after about a month. I eventually relapsed to a higher dosage to around 80mg and continued using like that up until about 2 weeks ago when I said fuck it. I had 8 10mg percs left and split them all into halves. I tried taking 10mg a day, but that only worked for 4 days and I was out.

My two dealers who I usually get from both were out and I decided enough was enough. I found some kratom, bought 100 grams to help me get through the withdrawals and it actually worked. I still had the normal symptoms, just a lot more under control. I've been taking vitamins, working out, going to the sauna two times a day, drinking as much water as possible and relaxing at home.

The first 5 days were hell, but not the normal hell. The worst symptom was the RLS and that eventually got better after a week. I decided to do without the Imodium since I have been using the kratom. Kind of regret it, but whatever. I've kept my Kratom down to a minimum, about 3-5 grams a day and the last 4 days I've taken it twice.

The most important thing for me was LSD. I managed to get a strip this weekend, and man. What a trip. I felt like a new person the next day. The RLS was gone, my mood was better, I just felt mentally right. Or atleast like I'm getting there. I'm still sore and sweat a little but I feel 100x better. I think the LSD truly reset something in my brain and thank god for that.

It's been years since I've been clean and coming out of the fog feels so good. I honestly thought I'd never see light at the end of the tunnel yet here I am, 11 days clean after years of struggle and I can not only see the light, I'm in the light.

For those of you who are still struggling, and think you can't beat this shit, you can. You fucking bet your ass you can. Don't be a slave to these demonic drugs. Free yourself. Beat the fuck out of this addiction. Don't just beat it, murder the shit. Bury it 600 feet underground and piss on the grave. Good riddance to the shit and God bless. You can do it.

I'll update you people soon and let you know of anything new.

I don't think I would be clean if it weren't for this website and all of you who helped motivate me. I read almost every thread about addiction and withdrawals and it truly opened my eyes.

If anyone needs any advice, help, or someone to talk to, just message me and I'll be your guy.

Im sorry for rambling but I forgot to mention .... benzos... They saved my ass. I didn't take any until day 7 and I've been only taking 1mg if I can't sleep. I think I've taken three doses total, but it's helped get me going on a decent sleep schedule. Instead of falling asleep around 4-7am I'm passing out around 2-4am and Getting about 4-6 hours a night which is like heaven for me.

Deuces

Hello. I'm very new here ( my second day) and today is my first day without pills. In almost 10 years. I read your story and we have a couple things in common-I'm really glad you did it. please keep posting

Hey Imtrying,

I appreciate the response. I would love to hear your story and where you're at with your recovery!

Update:

Hello fellow bluelighters,

Today is 21 days clean for me. Since my last post, I've had a few days where my anxiety and depression have really hit me hard. I manage to get over it by watching some tv or listening to some tunes. The RLS is pretty much gone, still there, but not enough to make me uncomfortable. Sleeping is becoming easier and easier, still falling asleep around 3-4 which is fine, I'm getting about 6 hours of sleep.

I stopped taking Kratom and any benzos about a week ago. I didn't want to get hooked to anything else, especially knowing my addictive personality. What's helped me more than anything is working out almost everyday. It's not only good for you physically but mentally it makes you feel like a million dollars.

I'm still using the sauna everyday, somedays twice a day. Idk if I'm overdoing it but it really relieves any pain I have for an hour or so. I recommend this to anyone kicking.

I'm still getting the shits, which is really frustrating. I refuse to use Imodium because I want my bowels to recover. However, it's really frustrating that it's been three weeks and it's as if I'm in the first days of withdrawals. Hopefully it'll get better eventually.

Today has been an eh kinda day. I barely have any energy and it's like that half the time. I did pick up four adderals in hopes to helping me take care of some things in the next couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to my one month mark. It's crazy to think I've made it this far when never in a million years would I have thought I'd do it.

To any of you out there reading this and need encouragement or someone to talk to, don't hesitate to message me. Bluelight has been my only outlet and no one in my life outside of you guys knows my story. I know how hard it is being in the dark alone, but with all of us here we can show you the light, the Bluelighters of course.
