Long lasting robitussin?

Today I went to the store to get some robo but the only brand containing only dxm had a large orange LONG LASTING brand across it my question is...Would the dxm be any different as it is listed in ingredients as dxm hbr usp I dont know what name dxm usually goes by in the kind of robo that doesnt say long lasting but still will I be tripping into the morning or will it last the usual 5-8 hour range?

Idk. If its not dxm polystyrex like delsym then I cant see it being longer lasting. Then again I'm on dxm now so maybe I'm crazy!

Dxm salt is dxm salt imo

There actually is an extended release version of DXM, it's called DXM polystirex, it's like DXM bound to an edible plastic that slowly releases the DXM I'm pretty sure.

The USP just means US Pharm which produced it. Strange that it doesn't list polystyrex form, that would indeed be the long lasting form. I've seen it as tiny little balls in gelcaps which have to be crushed to absorb it quickly. Generally longer lasting formulae are deemed less effective for recreational use which would have something to do with the DXO : DXM proportions. If you absorb the DXM more quickly there is less inhibition of metabolizing it into DXO which has the most desirable dissociative effects.
