I think the industrial revolution part was probably the best though, some good music in there but didnt really like the whole facebook thing that was going on afterwards, good to see they took notice of the rave culture aswell , entered a hole just as the countries started coming out and turned off and came back as it had finished. They tried there best to get as many ethnic children into one shot as possible, disappointing it went completely to plan though

Team GB and then Cancellara with a huge crash made a mess of the roadrace. Feel bad for Cavendish missing out on a medal

I agree. I didn't see the need to pretend every other person in Britain is black, let alone during the industrial revolution.

That road race was wicked, the ending was tight. Nice to see a random Kazakh win. Not that I know anything about it.
 
Yeah great win for Vinokourov, well deserved. He isnt that random, been a big tour rider for years now.

Diabolical race coverage from start to finish from BBC, diabolical interview from Jill Smyth or whoever. No Race info throughout, times on screen, km's to go.
 
Just wanted to say that I had my doubts at first about how good our opening ceremony was gonna be, but I thought it was really good and thought we done the country proud.
I loved the industrial revolution part, NHS etc and putting some great British music and comedy in was great.
Made me feel proud at least.

Haha. I would have rather they'd wheeled out Lennon's skeleton than Elton. Even so McCartney just reminded me of the inevitability of decline and old age, which wasn't nice. He sang worse than he looked.
 
Off to watch teh shootingz tomorrow %) Fell asleep during the opening ceremony...Mind you I've been falling asleep during everything up until very recently.
 
I like the fact Born Slippy was played to a worldwide audience for 5 seconds. UK represent.

This Womens Roadrace has been unbelievably brilliant despite, once again, the awful BBC tv coverage. Loads of crashes, attacks, puntures in torrential rain in London. Amazing effort by the British girl Lizzie here. Only two km to go, hope she gets the gold she deserves.

Edit: Silver and first medal for GB. Brilliant effort from Lizzie Armistead. Tough as nails the roadrace
