"Local" Pills vs. "Import" Pills

Jesus, from memory.

Whenever I hear of the word imports the assumption of a big chunky uniquely pressed high MD pill comes to mind lol. Wouldn't make too much sense for someone to import speedbombs or anything else lol.

Back in the day imports use to mean high dose of MDMA, and locals meant low to medium dose of MDMA. Then when people started using other chemicals in pills, pills containing MDMA were called imports and pills with speed, k, dxm were known as locals.

back in the day, pills were generally decent doses of MDxx, regardless if they came from here or overseas. unfortunately, in today´s climate your unlikely to get anything but low MDxx, or another substance.

All this import propaganda has been passed around long before the pills were shit. Its just a marketing ploy like, ´triple dipped acid´, and 90% pure coke which is straight off the boat´. chances are your dealer doesn´t have clue where they came from.

I believe it was John Smith from Frankston who first coined the term!
 
When I started taking pills back in the late 1990s you had 2 choices: Locals $X ish or imports $1.5*X ish.

When purchasing an import it was pretty much given that you would get a strong MDMA pill. The higher price being your guarantee of quality (99% of the time) Whether these were actually imports I couldn't tell you but my best guess is yes, they did come from overseas.

Locals were a lower strength pill or speedbomb or mixture or dud (there were some around but not many) pressed in Australia.

Back then even buying a pill from a random at a rave or club you would be unlucky to get something of lower quality than what is going around these days. You almost couldn't buy a shit pill if you tried.


These days imported pills are few and far between (from what I can tell) and if you are offered an "import" its most likely a marketing gimmick like psytaco said to get more money out of you.

I would happily pay $XX for one of those rolexs from 1999!!

im pretty sure they call em speedbombs cause the majority of "local" pills in aus are methbombs right?
regaurdless it seems like even if it was an import it'd be MDxx-low nowadays :(
 
Most high MDMA pills are imports, thats not to say people dont press quality over here, maybe not in high doses these days but they used to!
Who remembers the UFO's of the 90's the double pressed Email's, they were locally pressed and were absolute dynamite!!
Most dealers that imported alot towards 2000 would crush and repress them into medium dose pills but before then they were dynamite! Seriously i dont remember having to eat more than 2 pills a night and i was off my face from 10 til 5.
These days most pills are locally baked but you do get some imports very rarely. Would love to see more!

lol, what difference does the term make if the only people using it are people who have no clue where the fuck the pill was made? the machinery used and how that could effect the press.

Fact is very few pills are pressed out of the country because it's very hard to ship bulk amounts of pills through customs without raising eyebrows somewhere.

We could speculate for years on where our pills came from, but it would still provide no conclusive proof of where they were made in any case.

It's an old term, last time I ever heard it used commonly was 2003/2004, it was useful then, because whether or not they were actually 'imported' or 'local' everyone knew imports were mdma while locals were speedy k. No rc's fucking up the market back then (not enough to affect more than 0.001% of the population anyway - duds were just that, duds, that did nothing, not some weird RC).

just like crack = meth, wtf is that, uneducated users that don't know shit, just tell them straight and say look it up. there own damn fault for being stupid...... :/
 
From someone who has been in the scene for a long time (not bragging, just stating a fact) - yeah the only good mdma pills are those that are imported mostly from either asia or europe. I do know of some batches of good pills that were 'cooked' and pressed here, proven by the fact that every now and again labs get busted with large amounts of safrole (necessary ingredient to make MDMA). And yeah as said previously, almost all locally pressed pills are speed or R/C's or some other chemical that is easy to cook or obtain. Again also as stated sometimes a large batch will come in, get crushed up and re-pressed here, but there isn't that much profit in that so it doesn't happen that often. Funnily enough in the late nineties and early 2000s, the quality of mdma pills was really good and plentiful - at that time the top of the foodchain dealers were getting more money for their produce by exporting to Aus instead of selling locally - in England pills are maybe [$X], here they can get five times that much, so we ended up with a lot of good strong MDMA pills! I'm sure those of you around at that time remembers! The precursors for making MDMA and now harder to get than ever due to effective policing and strategies by law enforcement, and as a result there is a GLOBAL shortage of MDMA. Yes - it IS global, although is worse here due to how isolated we are geographically. Plus the fact that while any idiot can make speed, it takes a chemistry background and super elabortate lab to cook MDMA. Also worth noting - you get what you pay for. If you can pick up 10 pills for [$Y] then they are gong to be crap. If you get charged [$Z] then chances are they will be MDMA. Motto of all of this - buy a tester and just insist on testing yourself before you buy. If your dealer is trustworthy and willing to stand by his product (as he or she should!) then there should be no prob with testing quickly before you hand over cash (he should be testing too!).
