Liver test levels really normal?

I've taken Hydrocodone for a little over a year now. I take large amounts per day when I have them. I try to do CWE whenever possible but can't always. I've been having some right upper quadrant pain and serious nausea. I was very concerned about it so I went to the hospital and told them what was going on. They did an ultra sound and blood work. The doc said everything looked great and my liver test levels were even on the low side. But the pain is still there and the nausea is horrible. Is it possible that my liver is still damaged even though everything came back normal?

no your liver is fine i had the same thing happen to me i think the APAP was making me sick luckily w/o long term damage

Thanks for your reply kalico, but can you tell me more about your experience? I have only recently started feeling sick and it is horrible! It, along with the pain, is almost unbearable and obviously scary. How much did you take and for how long? Did you use everyday? Thanks for answering!

I have had similar experiences. My liver results were always normal. Opioids cause constipation and sometimes the feces get jammed in the intestinal corners which cause a lot of pain. you might try some laxatives, they helped me at least. If your backed up it can also make you nauseated.

Thanks jjj678. I have been thinking the same thing. I bought come magnesium citrate and drank that earlier. Yuck! I was feeling so nauseated all day. After the mag citrate took effect, I went ahead with my nightly dose of the hydrocodone. After about 20 minutes the nausea started back in full force and I've felt so bad since. I didn't even take as many as usual and I've got nausea, heavy chested, headache, itching..All kinds of stuff I never dealt with before. Im so afraid that the doc missed something. I guess its time to break up with Mr. Norco.

I've had a similar experience not too long ago minus the nausea. I was experiencing some pretty bad right side abdominal pain spreading to my back accompanied by bloating. I thought my 3 years of daily kratom use took it's toll on my liver so I went to the ER and they took my urine and gave me a CT scan and all came back normal. I was sent home with no medication, no diagnosis, and an $8,000 bill :/. I went to the GP the next day and she diagnosed me with duodenal ulcers. If you haven't gone to a GP I reccomend doing so, I sure wish I would've before wasting 10 hours and $8,000 . You may have some GI issues unrelated to opiate use. Perhaps you take some stool softeners, drink alot of water, and perform an enema to clear your colon, maybe your just blocked up and if you aren't at least you ruled somehing out.

i took probably 10gs of APAP a day when i used to take norcos did that for about a year and a half and it hurt and made me wanna puke but i think it was just the symptoms of acetaminophen OD
